    [IMG] Hello everyone,

    *** SPOILER ***

I just finished Thone of Bhaal, both by becoming a god and remaining mortal.

When I looked at the list of movies that I can play from the main menu, I noticed that there is a movie for Ending #1 and #3, but no #2.

Is there a total of three different endings? How can I see the second one?

There's the Good God ending, the Evil God ending, and the one where you remain a mortal.

    [IMG] Hmm...

    Really?
    *wonders*

Is the mortal ending a "good ending"? I mean for a Paladin type guy. ;)

Oh well, it will be a long time for me...

[IMG] Excellent... an evil god ending!

My character is neutral, I should have access to both, right?

I guess I will have to win the game again with an evil character. This time, however, I will have to be a thief (since there are no good ones in the game - besides poor Yoshimo).

Well, Jan Janssen always served my thieving purposes. Then again, I never used him for backstabbing, so if that's what you want in a thief I'd say you're right.

For support thieving (Pickpocket, trapdetection) he was more than fine for me. And of course, his illusionist multiclassing allows him to cast knock, so you won't have to invest more points into open lock.

Sorry Blackhawk (Cybermancer), you can not have all the endings from the last save. That, if you are good or evil god depends on your actions and dialogues with solar. So, when you fight Melissa, you are already done the things which choose if you are a good or an evil god if you take the path of godhood. The alingment has almost nothing to do with it.

Ah. Thank you. Perhaps I should hack up some villagers before I go to the final battle.

[IMG] You have to use evil dialogues to the Solar - low rep and alignment don't change it within my limited experience with it.

But AFAIK - the dialogues are the only things that affect it.

Interesting. Considering that my last game through was with a neutral evil f/m, romancing Viconia. And throghout the other half of ToB he acted good on everything. His rep was 20, behavior good, and dialogue options should've been good as well etc. But I got the bad ending. Obviously I think it is completely dependant on your alignment. In neutral cases I guess the rep is taken into account, and yes, maybe some dialogue.

Or maybe I just got unlucky.

[IMG] How did you keep Viconia with 20 reputation?

BTW, I was a lawful good paladin and purposely chose evil answer choices and I got an evil ending. I think the test in the pocket plane in which you fight your evil self, Angelo, Semaj, Tazok, and Tamoko proves if you're good or not. If you're good, the ground turns into a desert oasis thing that heals you when you step on the water that appears. If you're like me, however, it turns into a hellish-looking area with lava that hurts you when you step on it.

Farthy: About when is that spot when you fight yourself etc then? Been so long I don't remember, and I won't start the replay round with ToB as well if I can help it, simply because they decide to cast a curse of permanent desicion of alignment without even telling the player to make a reserve save.

And.. Don't read if you don't like spoils.

    **SPOIL**

I said halfway through ToB for a reason. Reason is that Viconia changes her alignment to NG, so a rep of 20 is no problem.

Whose "they", that don't tell you to save? :)

Anyway, I was talking about Pocket Plane Challenge number 2 after you've killed Yaga Shura and are about to go to the Oasis to get to Amkethran. The room where you do the second challenge is the area that changes based on your decisions. I think by that point it is too late to become evil if you've picked good answer choices or good if you've picked evil answers. Or I may be wrong.

    Alright thanks.

And the thing with reserve saves is that they're not enough. To me it's no difference wether I have to load my reserve from 5-10 hours away, or restart the entire game. That time that is lost, and the amount of good dialogue now spoiled when you have to wade through it again for no real reason is enough.

I made a decision just a month or so ago what with bumping into all the bugs and so on. And the desicion was that if a game requires several restarts, loads from mile away, or any other such things that speak of an incomplete product (that is, you know what way you want to play, but you cannot because of illogical reasons that have nothing to do with "ingame properties"), then I will find better things to do with my time.

I've always been strictly against Walkthroughs. Now I'm only hoping they would make walktroughts, instead of "this is precisely what happens in this game" -things. I would always play my own way first, and if a bug or an "interesting feature" screws it up, then I would search for a walkthrough and go for the second time. Only problem is that these walktroughs all manage to spoil every single bit of dialogue, plot, and other form of detail that have absolutely no purpose in the walkthrough than to spoil the game for you. They should make "Spoilthrough" and "Walkthrough" two separate things. Things being as they are, I just skip such games and get on with my life.

Once more, thanks for the advice. I think I woulda been quite surprised to see that my CG character would've gotten an evil ending. I wonder what other magnificent surprises are still waiting for me when I finally get this Tashia romance done in SoA and move on to ToB for the second time.

    You're too welcome.

    SPOILER***

If you're impatient, I'll just tell you the evil ending:

"Your mortal essence crumbles as you embrace your fate, and take the legacy of
    Bhaal as your own.

You welcome the divine power, and feel your dark influence flow over all that
    you know.

The Abyss welcomes you, and you know you can shape it to your darkest
    desires.

All your enemies have been crushed, but there will be more to come.

You are one of many in the crowded planes, but you are certain to destroy any
    challenge.

You have stolen the destiny of a god, and none shall stand in your way.

In time, all will know your terrible name.

Your tyranny shall be renowned, your strength and guile legendary.

You are the Bhaal-spawn, Lord of Murder, and the mark you have carved upon
    the Realms shall never fade."

The images the ending shows is the same as if you're a good god, so it's not that different.

BTW, you can download the endings at this website, and it was written by our good walkthrough (spoilthrough) friend Dan Simpson.
