[IMG] What's the use of having a thief character if you can't have him/her play the part and do some stealing. I've got a 10th level thief with a base pickpocketing level of 70% but the game will not allow me to utilize that skill. I've tried enhancing my chances with potions and no armor but I consistently am denied the fun of pilfering. What's happened? Has the thief character been relegated to just looking for traps? Has anyone else playing a thief encountered such a ridiculous dilemma?

Dont mean to sound harsh but... you must be playing a totally game than I. My current party has 178,000 gold pieces. All from stealing and reselling the items. I have a Fighter/Thief as my main character. I'm certainly not going to give any 'hints' on how to steal considering your subject post but 'try' a few things.

Perhaps you too can have a 'totally' decked out party with all the 'trimmings' that your heart desires. My party sure is decked out -lacking nothing- in fact I have major items stored in my Guildhouse. :) Of course it takes 'stealing' effectively in order to attain all that kind of wealth. G/L

gotta agree with Draco here. thieves can steal from just about any store or merchant in the game. you can even steal from your own guildhouse store if you wish. i find actually walking up to someone and trying to pickpocket them a waste of time though. i have tried to several times and come away with very little. maybe a scroll here and there but nothing major except a nice ring i scored off Renal in the Adventures Mart.

i too have my party decked out in fine gear that i swipped. never will i worry about paying high prices due to my low reputation, i can just steal, although i do buy items of intrest from shops i can't steal from. but i am never hurting for cash thats for sure.
