    [IMG] HELLOOOO! :D

hehe just like in BG I'm making another one of these threads because there's A LOT of things in this game that I have no idea about! I've started playing IWDII again so although there may not be many things on the list now, oh don't worry there will be :p .

    Now,

    (1) Does anyone remember the Knight (The one that looks like a cambion) at the ice temple? When you eventually kill him you get that nice long sword that does +2 damage and +1 cold damage, a few spell scrolls, potions AND his armour. The description reads that it must've been a great piece of plate mail armour. So is it possible to SOMEWHERE get this armour ugraded into something you can wear? Or did they just to it to be REALLY annoying in that people like me would forever wonder if anything worthwhile could be done with it! Or perhaps they had plans for it in the supposed (COUGH) expansion?

    (2) In the wandering village, is it possible at all to kill Nym, because whenever you do he "hides" and disapears out of the area which is REALLY annoying. Pickpocketing results in the same thing. I know he's supposed to be a special character in the plot, especially seeing as how the fool was the reason the elves and dwarves got really touchy with each other, but is it possible to kill the guy?

Thanx! And feel free to add your own queries as well :D

1)I have no idea. I never heard about such a thing, so I don't think it is possible.

2)I killed the Nym. BOTH in IWD, and IWD 2! Bwahahaha! The cursed drow should suffer!

The trick is, cast a Finger of Death on him before he has a chance to turn hostile and scram! Provided that you have (greater) spell penetration and/necromancy focus he is toasted. Instantly and irreversibly! Ofcourse, this applies to HoF I think, since you need to be pretty high level, sorry, but revenge is sweet nevertheless. :p I killed the sucker in IWD with FoD (gotta love his spell, it is heavy killer!) in my first try too! He deserves no less. You can not know how much I hate his guts! The satisfaction was so great!

Such useless items are introduced to add to the 'environment' There really should not be any way to upgrade it, even if there were to be a sequel. Even with the Bags of Holding, there is just so much stuff to carry around without adding junk to it.

Nah the armour always intrigued me ... don't know why though. Anyway Silver, what was Nym carrying when you wasted his drow ass?

Remember when you get out of the Ice Temple and you meet the two mercernary companies that were trying to break through the Ice Wall? I remember the one which hadn't been taken over by a shapeshifter, tells you to meet him in Luskan at the Purple Wyrm Tavern in Luskan ... WHYYYY do the game creators do that when clearly you can't ever get into Luskan??? Isn't that just meaaan! :(

 NO IT'S NOT! I seriously thought I was going to Luskan after that! AND when Isair said "Don't think you're the only one with allies in Luskan" I was like ohhhhhhh! AND OF COURSE seeing the word LUSKAN on the god damn map I thought it was a given  screw you Black Isle, I'm crying now :D

I only just realised you can get 300XP from the old woman in the Docks if you visit her AFTER you have heard Anson's story about the cat and tell her what happened to her missing cat. Just when I thought I knew all the Targos quests off by heart....

I've also only recently discovered some Druid only dialogue with the druids in Shaengarne. Not that exciting, but more evidence to me of the depth that has actually been put into this game.

Nothing beats the Abominable Snowman hiding near the ice caves though.

Yeah that snowman, I could never discover it if not SP forums.

And in the last battle, that invisible mage keeps summoning tough things to trouble the party. I never noticed him in my first games. Later, a quick see invisible and Disintegrate  and the battle is suddenly easier!

 Why don't you XP/item hounds let that poor Abominable Snowman be? Do you have to kill everything on the map? :p

Yes, I have also found some interesting things when I was making my tactics mod.
A good news is at last the mod is done. And I am waiting Taluntain's response now.

I managed to kill Nym with my lvl 9-11 party today. Trick is, paralysing him before he has a chance to hide. If he hides, you can dispel his invisibility with See Invisible spell, but he runs for the Fel wood entrance with lightning speed and flees.

Chromatic orb is a good idea at first, but Nym, being a drow and rogue, has good SR and reflex save, plus evasion. So you need something else.

I equipped my whole party with those spiffy stunning bullets and arrows which I looted from all those maniac auril priests in chapter 2. We all unleashed them to his dark butt and he failed his fort. save, was stunned, and my hasted party killed him fast.

He carries a shortsword+3, a spiffy shortsword+2 with story but no other power AFAIK, a cloak of protection+1 (handy), a ring of inv. (I guess game designers wanted us to think he uses it as he flees)and some gp. He gave me 750 xp and great satisfaction too! :p

One thing I always wondered, when you fight high priestess Lysara (the one with cool voice acting) she speaks about 'Thou I walk in to the Nine Hells' or something like that, before fight. Now I am no Christ but I remember there was a similar line in Bible too, from what I remember from some movies. Am I right?

I always feel sorry and guilty for killing those Aurilites as I read their journals. Curse you Kresselack, you made me to kill poor, sweet Lysan way back in IWD in the first place! :(

It's been years since I've played IWD 2, but after reading this thread and a few other other active threads in this forum, I very much forsee myself digging through my CD archives tonight to locate and dust off IWD 2 CDs! If I have time (assuming things remain slow at work), I'll post the party I'm considering for what is sure to be my next run through of this game.

My wife might prove somewhat less enthusiastic, but I guess that's the brakes when a total girly-girl decides to tie the knot with a total fantasy geek :D

But as I sometimes have to remind her, at least I know to put my husbandly/fatherly duties first... with what little time's left over, I like to spend it saving the world! Okay, granted, it's not "our" world, but sometimes it's the thought that counts, right?

    ...Right?

Hehe I know Silverstar, we're soOoOo cool :D Because, ummm, Marceror sounds hell nice and everything ... moving on now ...

O-M-G ... WHAT SNOWMAN!!! This is the first I'm hearing of this. Somebody SPILL! :D

Btw, I was wondering if any of those buildings ... as in ANY OF THEM, were unlocked after you save everybody at the end of the game. I thought it was hell annoying seeing as you get to the biggest town in the game and you can only enter a stupid weapons shop :(
