Although I'm not a sorcerer or mage, I have heard things the sphere does.
You get servants, apprentices (sp?), that are able to make magical things for you if you order to. Rings, daggers etc.
And of course, it's just cool to have it I assume, I know D'Arnise Hold is!
Maybe someone else knows more about it...

Both strongholds (warrior and wizard) suck!

Since this is about Plannar Sphere...
Yes, you'll get some apprentices from Cowled Bastards to point them in practicing magic. When they graduate, one of them will return and make 5 random potions every week (if you accept that). And that's all about it. I'd rather Plannar Cube. :p

D'Arnise gets 500 cp every few days. But since you can sell those potions...

Anyway, reaching places to get potions or money in both strongholds is VERY annoying, and probably not worth it. But if you are playing for the first time, get it to see what the hell is goin' on in there.

The 3 apprentice will make magical item for you at a price and risk. The more advance the item the more risk there is of the apprentice being killed.

There are 3 set of item you can chose from. This will range from Dagger of apprentice (dagger + 1) to the awsom staff of Magi (second most powerful mage staff in the game).

I never succed in creating ring of wizardry, robe of apprentice and staff of mage. i wonder have anyone manage to create any of those item without have their apprentice killed.

You cannot create all three without having an apprentice killed. Making the staff kills all three, and making either of the other two of those kills two.

Success in creating items you order is random. So, save before choosing an item, then order, then sleep a few days until it's done. If they fail, reload the game because time ain't improtant.

    About death:
    1. In first task if you order Ring of Protection Larz will die.
    2. In second task if you order Meteor Swarm Nara will die.
    3. In third task order anything and at least one of them will die. But if you order Staff of Power, all of them will die (which is not worth it, in Twisted Rune base you'll find better staff) and that has a consequence that Morul won't get back later to work in lab and create potions for you.

    Edit:
See time: Lothar beated me!

[IMG] 16 hours after getting the Planar Sphere Teos will appear in the Sphere with the three apprentices.
Go easy on your apprentices, won't you? :)

    . . . . . . . . . . . .

    - Extremist:
What stronghold do you like then? I think both Fighter and Mage strongholds are nice. Is it the quests or the place itself you think is most important?

My favorites are the Bard's - I hate playing a Bard though - and the Thieves strongholds.

Ha ha, i have defeated you Extremist, although your response is more detailed, and more informative. Ah well.

BTW what are the benefits of the Bard Stronghold? It is that theater under the Inn in the Bridge District, but do you get money, or what?

[IMG] The Bard Stronghold will give you the highest income of any stronghold if handled properly.

Whether you like the "quests" - aka casting problems - is another matter.

The thief stronghold was a real letdown. *One* quest and the rest is about controlling some thieves = gamble for more money :(

    Just to satisfy Earl Grey.

I hate all Strongholds. Since I don't use Debug=1 and LUA cheat keys enabling, I can't press CTRL+J (if that key combo was ment to be in the game, they would put it in without cheating, don't you think?). So, every time I want to get into Stronghold, I can weep (everyone's using this verb last few days, and so shall I). Put it this way, while my gang is going to Stronghold door, I can drink 5 bottles of beer. Another 5 'til they get things they are entered for (OK, last five I don't need in thief SH).

Anyway, as I said above, if you're playing for the first time, get the Stronghold to see why I'm spitting on the whole thing. And next time you'll probably think twice before you get it, because Stronghold does not affect the game (at least I think so). But, if you want to fulfil Black Isle's need to be sadistic, so be it.
