Someone should put the @$$ who made this into a "Maze of Pain".

What did the slug do to deserve that?

    Some people.... :toofar:

I agree with Dalveen. I bet people's reactions would be different if I put blind dog into a maze that had activated chainsaws forming the walls. This case is no different.

I'd like to know what salt does to a slug though. At least the basic food salt. You'd think it was about as harmful as sugar or sand to a slug.

Edit: Point taken and made, then (pointing down to Dalveen's post).

Yes, it kinda makes the slug melt. Somehow i don't think it's real though, probably just one of many internet pranks. Maybe the maze is made out of cocaine, and if it's a Colombian slug, it'll feel right at home inthere. :D

Hehe, my thoughts exactly, Pac man. :D

Seriously, I am not amused in any way. What a bored leprous bastard to treat an animal like this.
Alarming. Before you know it he will play "pranks" on the cat and next his little brother or something - and gets lauded for it. Beautiful world. The Peta people shall crush him.

I've heard that statistically, people who kill/torture animals/insects in their youth are much more likely to become murderers. Wonder how old this guy is. Not that I care overly much for neither him nor the slug, though.

Jesus, it's a bleedin' slug, lol.
Although, I didn't find it funny. Thats not 'cos of some, anti-cruelty-to-slugs thing. I just didn't think it was funny.

I'm with the big guy on this one. It is just a slug. I mean, I don't feel bad when I step on a bug.

I didn't find it that funny either, but is interesting if it is true. I would not have though that the slug had the facilities to exit the maze.

The reason slugs don't like salt is because it sucks the water out of them. This reaction is called osmosis.

That's just plain, run-of-the-mill idiocy at work I guess. I mean, I'm not a fan of slugs as such, or many other 'creepy crawlies' but I think that guy certaily has some issues that need to be worked out. Looks like the prank of a young kid trying to be cool, but then, I don't know many who never burnt ants with magnifying glasses and othe3r such pranks when they were young. Like 8 or 10 years old.

I don't think the the slug was particularly smart. He probably made it through the maze because he chose the only route that didn't hurt. It may be "just an insect" but it still doesn't deserve pain. I have swatted a few mosquitoes in my life but I never pulled the wings and legs off of them first.

It's still pretty interesting. Either the slug was lucky or they actually have memories.

For what it's worth, I don't think the slug made it through at all. I just don't think a guy like that would have the patience to watch the whole ordeal through. He probably placed it in the end of the maze and then proceeded with whatever his sadistic mind had in store for the slug next.

As far as the salt goes, I'm aware of what it does. Even if I had not learned about in school or while cooking food, every Finn should know the reason it's used to prevent the streets from getting slippery from ice during the winter. I just didn't think common food salt would be nearly effective enough to affect the slug through the slime. Though I didn't know the general reaction would be that violent in a skin contact.

I don't care if it's a slug orr a puppy, thep point is that it's intentional sufferage.

Even if it is about as amusing as the oldest riddle in the world... what's red and green and goes 300 rpm?

You do know that slugs don't actually have nerveends that are susceptible to pain in any parts of their bodies, right? This means that even though the osmosis kills them (by sucking their body dry, the water goes from high concentration to low concentration), It doesn't hurt them at all.

That said I find this funny, but not well thought-of. He should have considered the consequences...
