Pretty much everyone gets used to penile enlargement offers, given some time. What still annoys me is the bastards putting dots and spaces in the middle of words to avoid my spam filters and thinking I would still want to buy anything from them after that. Empty messages without a single char inside or attachment are getting on my nerves. Messages with attachments only are already there. Just which idiot thinks I will open it?

I have received e-mails signed by all three e-mail addresses I use. I can do that, too. Every kid with a scrap of PHP-supporting webspace can. So what's the deal?

Degrees... university degrees based on my life experience. Brilliant. Do I get a PhD in human nature? Maybe going to give me an MBAC? (Master of Blood Alcohol Content) And a five in coffee making. Don't forget about theology and moralising.

Medical scam. Get it out of my inbox. So long as there's coffee in the container in the cupboard to the right from the fridge, I'm fine.

OEM software without computers attached. Smart. Simply brilliant.

All kind of sex toys. As if I have any use for that.

Know what annoys me the most? "Hi again", "reply" and that stuff. I hate it when insolent idiots are telling me I've ever written anything to them. This is the worst thing. Put the to jail for this one. It's freaking fraud.

Are they born like that? Or how does one become so stupid...

Actually they are not that stupid. If 1/10 000 happens to believe them that is more than enough to make it worth a while. I have several Email addresses and a couple of potential addresses I might use if and when those that I use currently drown in spam.

Wish it was so easy. They use spambots to market their products and spread their scams and these spambot servers are usually located in funny places such as Nigeria. Good luck on suing them.
    ;)

I wonder how long this sort of email spamming can increase at its current rate without crashing down the entire email system. My worst fear though is the thought of getting spam on mobile phone. I sure hope that won't ever happen.

The really stupid people, Chev, are those that actually reply and give the spammers some hope that if they spam 100 people, 1 will fall for it.

Yeah, it is stupid. It should be a crime. I could print thousands of pamphlets about penile enlargements and stuff them into my neighbors' letter boxes and I would be arrested for that.

It's one of those sad things about humans. Give them too many freedomes and there is bound to be some idiot(s) who abuse those freedoms and ruin it for everybody.

I agree completely. Most of the spam I get is so full of spelling mistakes or is completely incomprehensible. I cannot understand the point of it.

If I was going to send out spam, I would find a way to try and make it look respectable to increase my chances of getting a responses.

Spam is one of the worst evils perpetrated by the world. Ever. I've had to abandon four seperate email addresses because I was getting over a hundred spam emails a day in each one. I don't need to "go back to high school;" I'm already there. I don't need Enzyte or Viagra; I don't even have the required organ. And I certainly don't need to watch people having intercourse with animals.
And Morogoth, there already is spam by phone. It's called telemarketing. But you are correct that the day people start getting them on their cell phones, is the day that humanity is truly doomed. If only there were a "do not mail" list as there is a "do not call" list. America, and the world in general, would be a much better place. Not that telemarketers pay attention to that list anyway. But that's a subject for another thread.

The idiocy of spam is what summarizes the first post and is something no one is going to disagree with.

I've even been contacted by Nigerian guys on an LDS Singles site (site for Mormons that are single). There's also a scam with girls claiming to be from Russia that say they want a relationship with you but they've never checked the profile...

One guy even claimed that one of these guys from Nigeria was hitting on him...

Well telemarketing is really not that bad since they don't try to sell viagra to you etc. Besides I have never ever got any telemarketing calls on my cellphone.

The company Spam filter is pretty good at getting rid of everything. The only thing that used to get through were the xantax/prozac etc stuff, but those have now stopped.
The only junk mail we get is from companies we're signed up with (Charity, bank stuff etc) and the only telemarketing is automated messages from Florida saying we've won another holiday.

Cant you mailbomb them back, or send them somekinda virus or something? If it needs to be an attachment, you could disguise it as a "my payment plan" or "my credit info" or something...

The address is just a tiny parameter in the program that sends the message. It isn't verified anyhow, so there's no contact with the real account by that address.

Telefonica Movistar is my movile service provider, two months ago they sent me a letter telling me that from that day they will send me advertisings in SMSs (messages), but if I don't want them I just have to call to a number, so I did, even I called to technical support and they said to me that I won't get those SMSs but I keep getting them, I got as much as 9 per day; I even get MMS (the one that requires internet connection, which they charge you just for getting there and then not by time but for kbs; few days back we got news that we can get a new mobile virus via those MMSs.

It sucks when mobile service providers start sending SMSes with unsolicited commercial information to their customers. They have no right to do that and it's abuse of the personal data they have been entrusted. It's illegal for those bastards to use one's phone number in such a way.

Oh, you are gonna love this.

Plans are afoot to introduce targeted and localised marketing by the cell companies. Since it is really easy for the cell company to asertain where you are, they now propose it send targeted ad sms's whereby you get ads for shops, malls etc. in your immediate surroundings.

Even when you are on roaming. :bang:

Spam is not idiocy. It is a gradual, continual, and insidious burrowing into your consciousness by callow and greedy people until you come without quite realizing it to accept their right to do it, even if you delete all their messages unread. Though the spammers are few and the unhappy recipients are many, nothing seems to be done about it. Perhaps they should be made to walk the streets with a video monitor squashed unto their shoulders, endlessly repeating their inane messages.

I am sure to catch hell for this but I am starting to like Bill Gates' suggestion of charging 1 cent per email. Do that and spam becomes costly for them instead of profitable.

Those spam email like 'RE: Last night was amazing!...' can get you in serious trouble with your partner!
