I'm playing my way through this wonderfull game for the second time now, and I never found a purpose for the cobblestone you pry out of a zombie called 'the post' in front of the Dustman bar in the Hive. At first I thought it was a key through a secret portal, but I never found such a portal... can anyone shed any light on this?

There is no use for that item in the whole game, although someone (I don't remember exactly who) will explain what are portal keys and mention that even a cobble stone can be the key.

Since PT was never finished (read some of topics I started here) I suspect that cobblestone was ment to be the key, but they simply ain't implemented that.

And if you don't believe any of my words, check "torment.ini" file and you'll spot CD5. Either they intended to sell expansion, or they simply gave up the idea to include some more locations in PT what made CD5 obsolete.

I gave up trying to figure out what I could use it for, so I decided to think of it as an alignment issue instead. A note says that it is strictly forbidden to vandalize the Post in any way, and I figured that prying out the cobblestone could be considered 'breaking the law'. (Pretty far-fetched, perhaps)

    No it's not alignment issue.

When you try to talk to "The Post" and say:
"I thought *I* was in bad shape. Don't all those nails hurt?" that will make you a bit more chaotic (humor forbidden!).
Nothing else about that zombie affects your alignment.

Prying the cobblestone gives you 250XP and nothing more.

[IMG] It is interesting to hear that they were going to include an extra CD with Planescape (or something similar) because i found the game much too short.

Anyway if you are wanting to play through the game as a lawful good character then do not make any sarcastic or rude remarks to anyone......if you ask me it is a little too sensitive with this.
