    Hi all,

Watched the end movie last night and coudln't fathom where it was exactly that Sarevok's spirit went...

    What was going on there?

What is that massive hall with all the statues?

Why does the one of Sarevok/ Bhaal disintergrate?

In short - can someone explain what the hell is going on in this movie in terms of D&D lore!!

I think it only serves to let you know that the adventure is not over with the dead of Sarevok, that many more Bhaalspawn still remain.

I thought it was wherever Bhaal lived when he was a god. Those statues are his children. Why do the kids crumble to dust? Well, Bhaal sired these brats with the intention of having them carry his godhood safely until one was strong enough to defeat his/her brothers and sisters. Then, Bhaal would take over that progeny and become a god again, much like what Bane did to his son. Bhaalspawn turn to dust because the essence of divinity imparted to them at conception is returned to the Big Pool o' Bhaal's Godhood - ToB stuff not mentioned - and since the spark that gave them life is gone, the body just dusts.

So what exactly is the meeting with Sarevok later in ToB?? How is it that Sarevok can come back if he's already "turned to dust" so to speak in Bhaal's great temple?

This is something I've never quite understood...

He's lost the essence of bhaal, but he can still be raised like any human.

Which makes me wonder why I have to reload when my PC buys the farm. :p

Sarevok had a strong will in life.

Sarevok turns to dust at the end of BG1. That body is still dust at the end of ToB. The piece of Bhaal-essence you give him in the beginning of ToB is used to form a new body for his soul to inhabit. Most people get their image stuck in their mind, and Sarevok just didn't think of variation, so it ended up like his old body.
I've always seen it as a reaction side-effect thing. The pure energy of the Bhaal essence leaving the body crisps the body, or something like that.
