I don't know if you people know this, but as I have not seen it on the boards, here it is.

When you do the Wraith Sarevok's Tear, it is well known, that you get +2 STR on top of your equipment.

You are also supposed to get +1 STR immediately when you start whacking Sarevok. Well, it is not true. I was playing a Swashy/Mage and took the evil path there - I got a DEX increased.

I spent 5 minutes rejoicing, because that way I would not lose any AC at the Selfishness Tear.

So the morale should be the following: you get the increase in the major stat of your class.

But here is a question: my thief class has stopped and I was essentially a mage. Why didn't I get an INT increase?

What would happen if I was a Mage/Thief or Cleric/Thief or else?

Hey Extremist, can you think of a way to answer this Q with Infinity Engine Explorer, rather than have to run through the entire game AGAIN?

[IMG] In previous post I said there is a problem with mage and monk - I was wrong. I remembered something, but that wasn't Sarevok room in hell... I can't even find that note, god knows what I spotted before and if it is patched... :(
Again my Nameless One's memory...
    But nm, here goes....

    -----------------------------------------------------

If you let wrath take your mind and become Slayer, you get stat increase:

STR+1 - if fighter, monk or barbarian

DEX+1 - if thief or bard

CON+1 - if ranger or paladin

WIS+1 - if cleric or druid

INT+1 - if mage or sorcerer

Stat increase happens only once - so if you're MC or DC you'll get only one stat increased! Class checking starts from top to bottom as it is listed above, i.e. Fighter/Thief will get STR+1 but Mage/Thief will get DEX+1.

It doesn't matter for DC what class is currently active, they are considered as MC.

Kits are considered as base class, i.e. blade is bard.

    [EDIT]
Errr, I misinterpreted, Lokken's explanation below is more accurate.

you dont actually have to change to slayer avatar. Just use the dialogue option that say you will, and you will get the +1 stat

hmm i know this is a somewhat old thread but i can't help but wonder: if you don't turn to the slayer but get the stat increase as lokken stated, would my char still become evil ? (and get the str bonus for that matter) since that +dex would balance out the -dex pretty well i think

[IMG] You will become evil as soon as you show Sarevok your wrath. On the other side: If you stay cool and make HIM attack YOU, and you turn into the slayer in turn - what happens in that case?

ok, you get the evil tear if you choose the wrath dialogue no matter if you turn into slayer or not. If you choose the "pity" dialogue and turn into the slayer, you still get the good tear.

The actual slayer change doesn't really have any affect on which tear you get, only the dialogue you choose

Since this thread has been revived, I will add another bug notice, related to the topic.

I was doing the Tear trials with my solo MC/RC lately, and decided - why not take the evil path in hell, convert to evil, lose my Charm animal ability, and gain some +2 AC bonus, +2 STR, +1 CON. So I saved, and took the evil path. As I expected, a message came that I have lost my ranger class, and I just wanted to check, whether I preserved druid spells in my spellbook.

    :mad: The spellcasting button was grayed out, and when I looked on my records page I saw: Modjahed, Neutral Evil, Dual-Class, Fighter: 4000000 Exp, Fallen Ranger: 4000000 Exp;

The game considers this particular MC as Cleric/Ranger, rather than Ranger/Cleric, so my char got totally screwed up.

That was it for the idea of going to the Dark Side.
