[IMG] When she attackes you right out outside of candlekeep she shoots a flame arrow at you. How is this possible if she's wearing full plate +1? Or was she using a bow? Or does the armor allow her to cast spells? Or is it an inate ability not a spell? ARGH!

She is probably using a bow. Or maybe scrolls work even if wearing armor?

When you would have scrolled down a very little bit, you would have found a topic with exactly the same name..........

To answer your question: The question is indeed a good one. Tamoko wears in the Underground city a Full Plate +1, a Flail +1 and a Large Shield +1. As we all know, Shields and Bows cannot be used together so she doesn't use a bow. You can see and hear if she casts a spell, but you can't cast spells when you wear a Full Plate. I'm gonna check the death of Gorion again right now.

Ah.. the solution isn't that hard. Let's suppose Tamoko is a Fighter/Mage. She wears Full Plate but that doesn't affect all spellcasting. Scrolls can still be casted then, so my conclusion is that she is a fighter/mage (with profiency in flail) or maybe a fighter/cleric/mage that casts the flame arrow from a scroll. It's normally not possible that you get only one damage from a flame arrow (1d6 piercing +4d6 firedamage) but that is just a deatil.... so you can't die in that battle.

By the information in the Infinity Explorer, Tamoko is a Cleric, plain and simple. Now, normally, clerics cannot cast Flame Arrow, but in the CRPG world of Baldur's Gate, anything's possible if the scriptors wish it.

Hmm, a pure Cleric? When she was a Cleric/Mage it would be possible.... Bit indeed it is possible in the cPRG D&D rules, there everything is possible. In the other fight she only does pure melee fighting and she casts no mage-spells so could be indeed possible that she is a pure cleric, so this is something that can't be done with your own character. They should have made Tamoko a Cleric/Mage with Armor that only casts spells from scrolls.

Ah I think now: Let's pretend that this is all legal for 2nd edition-rulez. Then she indeed maybe has an ability or item then let her cast a flame arrow once a day? Magic is not for mages only, it can also be in items, the is also a ring that let you cast Scorcher once a day for example.
