I was thinking of restarting BG2. I'm going to be male for the best possible romance options. I want Aerie and Viconia in my party, but I'm not sure who else. I want a party with the most conversations possible. Also, I don't know what class I'll be. Suggestions?

Jan Jansen has the most dialogues with any possible party members. Also, if you have minsc, they spark really well.
As for your class, I'd recommend some type of fighter(paladin, fighter or barbarian), or a spell caster(mage, or sorcerer) because aerie, viconia and Jan between them will cover the cleric and thief classes.
Since Aerie and Jan are multi-class mages, if you take a spell caster i'd strongly recommend a sorcerer.

A few mod suggestions... download the banter packs and flirt packs. If you're not interested in banters from mods, you can at least install the banter accelerator from either and it will cause more frequent banter between the characters. You should also look at the Valen/Solaufein-style interjections component from the G3 tweak packs, as you'll get a lot more interjections from the NPCs.

You have to remember that Edwin and Minsc will fight if they are both in the same party (I'm sure you remember the Gnoll Fortress in BG1, right?).

[IMG] They never fought in my games. For that occurence I suggest buying a maze scroll an mazing either Minsc or Edwin. The other person will be "victorious" and the mazed one will come back shortly (I recommend mazing Edwin because of his high intelligence).

Hmm....I'm sorry, I must be wrong. I've never tried them together but I read they come to blows somewhere...

No, you are right. Edwin and Minsc will indeed come to blows, but it's not a guaranteed occurance. There is a random chance that the two will fight.
