OK I started a game with tactics and Undead Targos installed. here is my party:

Drow Evoker (always fancied these. Losing divination and conjuration is not that bad IMHO)

Deep Gnome monk (this guy is awesome. With a few spells on him he has an AC of 32! This is extremely useful in the first stages, no one can hit him, and he has evasion, spell resistance, excellent saving throws, fastest speed, and mirror image&blur&invisibility spells!)

Aasimar Paladin3/Sorcx Ok this guy will get buff and summoning spells, while my evoker focuses on blasting.

Human Ranger/Barbarian Dual wielding and barbarian rage. Seems nice meleer to me.

    Human Bard-support character

Strongheart halfling Priest of Ilmater-just for the fun of it, and solid healer.

So far I beat Undead Targos with ease. Final battle was hard, but doable, my monk tanked with 32 AC, others sued ranged attacks (slins do fantastic damage to skeletons!) and it was doable.

Torak was hard. My evoker only had Blindness spell and had to use it. (due to random items mod!) But the spell proved to be useful! He blinded the evoker and transmuter, so they could not hurl their spells here and there. Bard and Cleric died, but Emma was there for quick raise and heals. Torak died eventually, and he had some nice items. Winter wolf items, which give +1 CHA! Like it!

Do you have any advice on my character builds? Will I be able to survive the tactics mod? I am having great fun so far, thanks to Undead Targos AND Random item thingies.

Share your ideas with me! See you!

Ehh, forget it, when I posted this, I was downloading the tactics mod, and it does not install. Something to do with weidu version, I guess.

    Sigh. :wail: Why?

Anyway, I re-created another party, I understood I am not comfortable with level adjustments and multi-classes of 3E. I took a spiffy, but all normal and single classed party and they rock so far! Random items component from EoU made my day!

    Thank you for reading. :p

Not installed? Em, just copy the "Tactics4IWD2-V1.0" folder into your IWD2 main folder, and click the Tactics4IWD2.exe in the "Tactics4IWD2-V1.0" folder. This is not a weidu-mod, you needn't move Tactics4IWD2.exe out to your IWD2 main folder. Just click it where it is, then it should be ok.

You can go directly to Phaen to see whether the wizard is harder to kill. (Does Undead Targos cover this?)
Or you can go to see Emma the Moonblade. If she is in heavy armor, Tactics4IWD2 is installed.

Silverstar: Did you start a new game with level 1 party?
the Tactics4IWD2 mod is a little bit too hard and therefore I don´t think starting with level 1 party is a good choice...(for Undead Targos too!)
Tal Rasha: Is it possible to make your mod WeiDu? I installed it but there´s always bug, with other mods I think...for example, Olap Tamewater dies in the final fight in Palisade, taking fireball and lightning bolt bith...etc, but after seconds, he came out from nowhere and again began to attack the goblin Shaman...

Oh, I moved it out of the folder, so it failed to work. Now I understand! I will try it again!

This means I will restart from scratch AGAIN, agh.

Surely, Undead Targos is doable with a lvl 1 party. I have done it three times, including big bad and awesome final battle at pallisade! I defeated it last time with only 1 death in my party. (which is pure unlucky)

So, I think tactics is doable too? (I hope!)

Tal Rasha, what should I do now for a bguless install? I want to keep Undead Targos and Improved Torak (cool fight, I managed to beat them all without losing single HP! You see, I am getting QUITE used to playing IWD2! :thumb: ) and Random item component from EoU. Should I uninstall ALL Weidu mods first? What do you suggest?

I love IWD2 so much (it is my very first IE game, the game which taught me everything about dungeons and dragons etc.) and really really want to try your awesome tactics mod, buddy!

    @Lionheart
I will consider to convert it to weidu version, if there are enough feedbacks to make me update a new version. And welcome your new feedbacks.

    @Silverstar
    I suggest:
    (A) EoU -> Tactics4IWD (If you would like to try the entire Tactics4IWD)
    (B) EoU -> Tactics4IWD -> Undead Targos (If you prefer Undead Targos)

So your tactics also beefs up Targos too? Is it as hard/fun as Undead Targos? Or just a few harder things/smarter AI here and there? I have no desire to hunt extremely weak goblins in Targos docks anymore. :p

It may be less harder than Undead Targos. But why not try a fresh one when you know everything about Undead Targos? :)

Undead Targos is easy because although you get to fight harder foes you get a magical weapon and scrolls to fight them... It is very unbalanced IMHO.

Getting the mace that gives you the extra bonuses vs undead and conveniently having your characters facing undead is just a way of scaling the difficulty while at the same time making the game easier.

I haven't played a lot with Tal Rasha's mod but I found so far that it changed the way some characters behaved (hence it can add an element of surprise) for instance Phaen didn't cast his spells as he used to and that's a nice change (still he went down pretty easily because I expected him to become hostile and I was ready to take him out).

I'm thinking of starting a new IWD2 game soon, I'll see how it works out beyond Targos.

OK then, thanks, you are right, I will try your own Targos for my next run. I will still have Improved Torak fight though, I like the battle a lot!

Oh this means I will start a new game. Agh. I hate leaving games unfinished and starting over! And I was at chapter 3! (just finished the most taxing part of the game so far, Ice Temple...agh!)

I will create a very radical and different party now though or else I can not stomach playing all over again and again. I am open to new ideas! Tell me!
