I just started this game and I am kind of disappointed that I cannot use the Tab key to reveal all of the chests and other things that can be opened like in BG2. Do any of the expansions add this or is there any other way. I hope I don't have to live with out it.

Yeah, HoW lets you hit -alt- to show items.

I'm actually playing through it now without the Expansion. I'm not sure if it's sheer nostalgia (I truely don't think it is), but they game just *seems* better without the expansion.

But, and this is just nitpicking really but for whatever reason I notice it everytime so it ends up being a big deal, some of the area music doesn't trigger properly. And creatures don't call for backup, so you can limit how far you go so you only trigger a couple at a time. And the weapons are much better (+3/+4) through the main areas, but when you install the expansion, they get downgraded to a lot of +2 stuff.

There's a whole slew of little differences, which I can't pin down, but the game just plays better without the expansion. But, then you get to bump up the resolution, and buy multiple things at one time, and hit level 30.

It's almost worth it to run two copies on your hard disk. One with TotL, and one pure IwD.

[IMG] I thought IWD withought the expansion was just like IWD without the expansion... wait, that doesn't make any sense. I mean withought the actual expansion bit y'know. Oh damnit

I thought it would be like the game WITH the expansoin without the higher level and the extra areas. Now, does THAT make sense?

But I take it it is actually different then?

I actually thought that tab did show items and discovered that it was alt after hitting all the keys to work out what everything did

All that may just be in my imagination. I'm not sure *why*. I don't know if it's just a whole bunch of little things or what.

God, if I could just get a 3day weekend off of studying, and eat/sleep/IwD, I could figure it out.

But yeah, it's a difference. Fairly large to me. HoW *is* nice because you can move up to 800x600. And the Lonelywood music is kinda pretty (it had to grow on me).

But, they recoded and tweaked on the main game too. Somehow, it's different...

anyone know if there is a key to show up stuff for BG1.
I just hate when i know there's something to be found but just can't find it exactly.
