    I know it is fun to do sub quests and it also earns lots of experience but did anyone play through the game ignoring most of them and just doing the main quest?

    I think you will have difficulties at the end of the game if you don't have the experience from sub-quests.

    One time when I was *gasp* soloing (I was bored, ok?) As I only had one character, I didn't have to trek around in forests killing stuff, simply so I would be powerful enough to deal with the plot-related fights. Just fetched the different tomes, and stayed as far from those areas as I could.

    The subquests are pretty important to the game. Just doing the main quest most people will get boned in the bandit camp. Plus just doing the main quest also means that you go to no other maps than those that are absolutely nesassarcey. Thus not getting nearly enough experience.

    Oh and it would be boring as hell.

    Only skipped the subquests when soloing.

    My latest (and probably last) solo effort in BG1 was with a character I'm taking to the end of ToB. This is the first time I brought the pants with me. :)

    It wouldn't be boring at all, every time I play the game again, I usually get bored at the point when I have to do some sidequests, instead of continuing with the game.
