[IMG] If you have a multi or dual classed character, how does stronghold aquiring function? For example, if you play a M/F and do the Nalia quest before the planar sphere, does this mean you will get the keep automatically or can you decline the keep, do the planar shpere and get the mage stronghold? thanks much for your help as usual!

As far as the Dan Simpson FAQ goes, if you accept the keep, you wont be offered the sphere. Advice is to accept the sphere first (this might not actually work, dunno).

There are also tweaks that allow you to have multiple strongholds. Some restrict that based on your class, some let you get any and all of them.

You get only one stronghold, so the one you start first will be the only one you'll be able to play with that character.

The Ease of Use mod has the multiple stronghold add-on which allows you to tackle all of them.

the patch or bug fix thing fixes the glitch that allowed you to get more than one stronghold if you were a multiclassed such as F/C, F/M or F/T

for example prior to the fix, a F/C could begin the keep, kill torgal but not talk to nalia, then go whomp on the cult of the eyeless, get the cleric stronghold, then return to nalia and be given the keep as well, thus having two strongholds. i think ia similar thing could be done wth F/M and F/T, but i never tried it.

if you want more than one strong hold, you might as well get EOU.

    ok
but what if I am a M/F, I start by doing the stronghold quest. I talk to Nalia and refuse the keep. Then I do the planar sphere. Will I still be able to get the mage stronghold?
Basically, if multi-classed, is the first stronghold quest (that quest of course being relevant to your dual classes) you do necessarily the one that you will get a stronghold for?

If you are a M/F without the multiple stronghold option, Nalia is not going to offer you the keep -- she only gives it to warrior types (fighters, monks and, I think, Barbarians).

Multi-classed fighters still get offered the keep. If you decline the Keep, a f/m will be offered the Sphere. And yes, there are various bugs that will occasionally allow you to obtain more than one, all of which are fixed by the Fixpack.

Different multiclasses do have to be a bit careful here--rangers and druids, for example, do not get an opportunity to decline their stronghold. If you use either variant of Multi-Stronghold from BG2 Tweaks (Ease of Use is deprecated and no longer supported) you will get the option to decline them.
