I'm coming up on Sarevok's Coronation and have been told it is the hardest part of playing solo. I was thinking of casting Web, then just laying out the offensive and domination spells. Magic Missle, Dire Charm... etc. Anything gonna go wrong with that? I've also got the ring of free action, so I can wade in there and whoop ass bigtime.

[IMG] I was told Dopplegangers have high saving throws so that could be a slight flaw in your strategy if none of them ever get held.

The dopplegangers have good saves, yes, but it only takes charming a few of them and turning them against each other, as well as trying to draw as many attacks as possible on yourself (to prevent the Dukes from getting killed), to get a good chance here.

Don't count on succeeding without a few retries though.

What I was going to do is cast Web, then cast dire charm on a couple of them. After that, I can hide in shadows and backstab them one at a time. My average backstab damage is about 45-50, so I should be able to get them in one shot, right?

Yeah, probably. You'll probably have an easier time soloing that than I had (due to a certain restriction I put on myself ;) ).

Edit: Yeah, Jesper got it right. Vampire's Revenge. And I was a pure fighter, which means no silly spells.

[IMG] Wow! That was funny :D
I love the but "So he commanded his feet to go there". Anyway, my strategy work after a few tries. I cast Web twice so the ones that got away from the first one would get caught by the second. It worked well and I just walked around hacking at them with the bastard sword +1, +3 VS shapeshifters. It only took me three tries.

[IMG] Yeah, that story was funny. I tried to read it in the office but kept laughing out loud. They must have thought i was wierd or something.

Do you think it would be considered wussing out if i solo up to that point with f/t, then take on an NPC mage for the ToSC missions, the coronation and there after??

I kind of wanted Dynaheir but i've already spoken to her and told her where to get off (if only i thought ahead more often).

    Yes.

But do whatever you think is best, it's your choice.

Also, and I have said so before, I'm really glad you liked my story.

well Intentioner, I suppose that would have to depend on what class you are. If you are any pure, non-magical class, then I'm told that ToSC's Durlag's Tower is impossible without magic(I wouldn't know, I don't have it). And about Sarevok's Coronation, don't be too intimidated, it actually isn't that hard. I thougth up a stategy that worked and so can you. If your a Fighing class, then use the nymph cloak to charm some of them, throw on the boots of speed and the bastard sword +1,+3 VS shapeshifters and wade through the muck and hack away while the ones you charmed are helping you. They go down easy, and if someone says it's cheap, don't listen. Baldur's Gate is all about using everything you can to overcome your battles. I don't think it would be possible to beat the game, solo, with a fighter by just running into every fight. You'd go down pretty fast(maybe it is possible and maybe i'll try it someday).
