Still problems with Chapter4

This thing is making me real pissed. It feals that all my love for this game were just wiped away by some evil hand.
After I killed the vampires that attacked me nothing happens. Saemon is gone and the thief girl still says, "talk to Saemon".
I´we tries this so many times and the problem is always there. It seemes I can do nothing. If you have a good idea about this problem, please answer this. Or at least tell me how you made your way through.

I can understand the frustration! When I first purchased my copy of BG2- it was defective. I tried install, after install and spoke with tech support who told me to do what I was already going to do -Exchange it where I purchased it. Which fixed things for me.

Ahem, back to your Chap 4 issue. *Something* is not triggering correctly. You may have 'done' all that is needed to do or you may be 'racing' your characters to the battle but try a reload and go slowly. Also pay attention to ALL the dialogue once you've disembarked the ship. You'll know things are happening correctly when the Female Shadow thief speaks to you, Saemon expresses his regrets & gates out. Then the Vampires attack. Afterwards, that's it. Your'e supposed to go (North-East) into the city and 'find' someone, a contact who can help you get into the Assylum.

But didn´t the thief girls dialouge change after the vampires were dead? I cant understand why nothing happens...is it a bug...do you guys think I should inquire the game were i purchased it? Maybe I can try to get my way through this, finding my contacts on my own(in the game). But it sure doesn´t feel right...

i also had this problem with the dialogue not been initiated ,the women sima should speak to you after you have killed the 3 vampires in my first time she did,then i remembered something i forgot in the slums so i reloaded a previous game,funny thing is when i got there second time i had our problem and i knew something was up so i reloaded again and the third time she spoke just like in the first time/i dont know if this is bug but i did choose the same dialogue options on all 3 occasions.

 

I also have experienced this problem. I was attacked by the Vampires, defeated them (and Saemon had vanished), and when I talked to Sime, she just stated that "Saemon looks nervous, go see what's up." ... I didn't think much of it, and wandered around until I found the tavern, and spoke to the contact I didn't even know I had.

On my latest trip through, I had the same bug again, but THIS time when I came back to the docks (this was after completing the Asylum), Sime talked about how Saemon was a traitor, etc and that I should go talk to that guy in the Vulgar Monkey. I got a chuckle outta that.

So basically, you needn't worry about the dialogue bug, because it doesn't trigger the contact in the Vulgar Monkey... you can still play on.
