    Hello and good days,

I was wondering if any of you remember from which merchants you could steal. And I mean the better merchants. I tried Joluv, Deidre and Ribald but they are not stealable.

    I really need this tip

    Thanks in advance

You can steal from the scroll seller in the back of the adventurer's mart, you can steal from the copper coronet barkeeper.
You can even steal and sell stolen goods to the merchant in the temple district sewers and the merchant who appears only at night in the area you surfaced after leaving the starting dungeon.

You could just sell and re-steal an expensive item from such a merchant again and again until you have enough money to be able to buy anything.
Cheesy, but pickpocketing is cheesy anyway.

I believe you can steal from some of the outdoor merchants in Trademeet as well.

There is also the black market thief in Shadow Thieves guild in the docks district as well as Gortcsh in Mae'var's thieves guild, also in the docks district.

Don't forget ole Galoomp the bookkeeper in the promenade, who has a nice selection of spell scrolls.

It should be noted that some of these stores require very high pick pocketing skills, especially stealing from Bernard in the Copper Coronet. You'll want to have a skill modifier in the 200 range to steal from him with any good chance of success.

Lastly, there is a merchant in Trademeet who has some great items that can be lifted fairly easily. I don't recall his name, but he's one of the "outside" merchants.

There are probably a few others, but those are the main ones.

One of the first things that I do when i get out of Irenicus's dungeon is have my thief chug the potion of master thievery and target poor old Arlonius or how ever it is spelled (the dwarf 2 stories back from the adventurers mart)

He has 2 sets of full plate that look real good on my characters :p

There are many shops that can be looted. In fact, it is better to write down those that cannot be robbed:

    Ribald Barterman's shop
    Blacksmith shop in Trademeet
    Sister Garlena's store in WK
Lazarus Librarius's store in Saradush(Later Amkethran)
Joluv(bonus merchant) in the Copper Coronet
Deirdre(bonus merchant) in the Adventurer's Mart

Any of the rest stores can be robbed, but definitely not all are worth it. There can be simply made a lot of money(2 million, say) - best via selling and re-stealing the Plate of Balduran(most expensive item) to a thief-merchant, there are many. And after that only robbing people with valuable items.

Avoid robbing people at random. Because while in shop robbing there is no chance of failure with high enough pickpocketing skill, robbing from people can sometimes fail. I am not sure if this is due to penalties like "daylight", "many people around" or is simply something like "1% chance of failure no matter the skill", but it is a fact.
