Stat drain not restored with restoration spell?

    I'm in the Shade Lord area and some of my PCs have been getting str drained. Ok I'll just cast restoration on them be set to move on. Not working?? What do I do to get my str back besides stand around and look dumb? The drain even lowers my modified str while I'm wearing a belt of giant str. The belt should overcome that I thought?

    AFAIK, restoration only restores drained levels, not drained abilities.
    your strength should come back after some time/rest though - same thing as with the intelligence drain from mind flayers.
