[IMG] I just finished ToB at long last. (yay for me)

Anyway, I want to start with a party in SoA and go through both with one party. (instead of getting a new party for ToB.)

So far, I think I'm slightly in favor of a mp game and am pretty set with some of the characters.

    -Main-probably good-human/elf fighter(what kind?)

    -Frontliner-Minsc?

-Pure Thief-probably caotic good or nuetral good human

    -Sorcerer-caotic good-elf(strong in ToB)

-Healer-Jahiera-(must have--never finished the romance with her before)

-Frontliner-Korgan?(just need to keep the rep. under wraps)

What do you think of this party?
    Any advice is welcome.

    Sounds good to me.
No offense, but I've always wondered why people ask who is the best NPC/best party or whatever, your party is what you make of it. Your party is only as good as you.

    No offence taken...

I merely ask because I enjoy knowing how others have taken the game since I have now finished it.

(I usually keep my party that I first suggest anyway...):)

For your main character, make 'em human if you want to dual-class, but otherwise, I would personally go for elven fighter, just cuz I like elves better.

The game will be easier if the elven fighter is an elven fighter-mage mc. A multi-class fighter-thief is the best thief to me. A sorcerer is an excellent choice. Edwin is also good with his amulet. I made Minsc an archer (SK), and he works well. Korgan is a good frontliner. I actually made him fighter-thief mc. It fits his nature right nice.

Your party as suggested is OK. All parties are OK when the game can be completed by a single individual!

I can't give you advice on the type of fighter unless you tell me what you're looking for.

Want power? Half-Orc barbarian or DC/MC fighter cleric or fighter mage
Want a whole new gaming experience? Wizard Slayer
Want to know what exactly a fighter is? Straight fighter or beserker

As for the race, I believe fighters can be of any race, but I would avoid a race who gets a -1 STR penalty

How about a finely tuned offensive team? Be daring and try an archer and a kensai and a combat team? You'll get the most powerful ranged fighter and the most powerful melee fighter. Let me assure you it will definitely will be fun and a challenge to play *g*

Then just take Jan Jansen, Misc or Sarevok or Keldorn, Jaheira and maybe Edwin and you're fine.

However, this is just a suggestion - since I don't really know what you want to play.

    Hmm...

    Minsc to an archer?
interesting idea, I never thought of that before, and I never really use him on the front line anyway. (ussually sits in the back with the Strong Arm +2 & the belt of Hill Giant strength for the majority of chapter 2.)
    Good idea.

Definatly not a Half-Orc.(for romance reasons)

Not a Wizard-Slayer.(I thoughly enjoy my magic items)

The extra dexterity is definatly good for a fighter...(elf)

    So far...

    Elven-True Fighter-Caotic good
    Human-True Thief-Caotic good
    Elven-Sorcerer-Caotic good
    Minsc
Jahiera(changed to a true druid via SK for balance)
Korgan (to be replaced by Sarevok on arrival to the Throne of Bhaal game)

Thanks for the advice guys. (I'm still considering so keep the ideas rolling)

  11. I would suggest yutake a elven mege/thief instead of a fighter.
    Main charachter:elvish mage/thief,CF,the equilaizer,possible bow.
    second:Jaheira:Small *spoiler* ahead.
To begin the Jaheira romance you must buy her a necklace from somewhere in the DOCKS REGION.
    Third:Elven sorceror.Staff of the magi,sling.
    Fourth:(minsc?)Elven ranger.Bow,Long sword*.
Fith:(korgan will cause too many quarels.)A human paladin.Carsomyr, crom Frayer,Halberd+4:the wave.
    Final:Human conjurer(edwin if you like).Staff of rihn+4,sling.

*Give all of youre elves long sword proficiency beacause they get bonuses with them.
P.S:Take the mage/thief because they are a relly cool class,If you want a fighter then take either a fighter/mage or a barseker!
    Paddy!!!

I'm not particularly fond of multi-classed characters (especially the protagonist) because they level up so slowly.

I would also prefer a hybrid game (part NPCs and part PCs-preferably half and half) because I enjoy the dialogs that come up between them.
