[IMG] I saw the preview for Star Trek: Nemesis today. In the trailer, they show the Enterprise crashing into something, apparently being destroyed. Have they run out of ideas?!?! I mean, since the Next Generation cast has taken to the big screen, I think this may be the 3rd time they've destroyed the ship in 4 movies!!!!!

What the hell?!?!? I was upset when the Enterprise was destroyed in Star Trek III...But It seems eveytime things get tough - Boom! Blow up the ship...

Okay, just a rant! Feel free to post your opinions here...

I just hope that this movie will be half way decent for a change. I wasn't overly fond of Insurection, not that it was a bad movie persay but that wasn't my thing really. At least this movie looks somewhat interesting based on the previews. Oh well, we'll see soon enough...

well, this is the last Next Generation movie. Several important people will die. Maybe the ship will be totaled once and for all. I dunno. I'm hoping it'll be another First Contact, not Generations or Insurrection

[IMG] Amaster: if the law of even-numbered star trek films holds true, nemesis should be really good.

oh yeah, :borg: hehe, i used it first!

Really, Phoenix would be a much better name for Enterprise based on its history. :shake:

There's been a rumour floating around that Cpt Picard bites the big one and Troi and Riker get married...They couldn't really make another movie after this, since Brent Spiner does play an android, and androids should't technically age likes he has...

[IMG] I always thought Troi and Worf would hook up! I'd be bummed out if Picard gets it...He was easily my favorite Next Gen character!

For some reason I have seen no previews...

This movie coming around now is somewhat like having an old lover knock on the door ten yrs later (or has it been more?) to see if you're still interested.

But of course!~ Picard cannot die!!!
Imagine if we had Capt. Janeway :aaa:

dragonjewel, the problem with Brent Spiner being in another movie is that he has flat out said he won't do anymore after this. He hates playing data.

edit: ooh, I just saw the preview on TV. Well, everything looks cool, except; there's a humvee. With a top mounted gun. Yes, it has WHEELS! in Star Trek. Ummmmmmmmm.............

I think I would hate to play Data too...Could you imagine the preparation, that you, as an actor, would have to go through for this part.
    "Okay, so what's my motivation?"
"Well, I want you to get a look on your face as if it's four in the morning and you've just spent the past three hours watching infomercials and drinking coke. Okay, good, now close your mouth. Perfect."

Right. I've read the script. (It was leaked along time ago, a google search will probably find it.) It's a pretty good movie, not on par with the original six or generations, but it shouldnt suck like first contact or insurrection.

The Enterprise survives, someone dies, someone gets married, and there is a really badass battle at the end.

Now for the bad news. Nearly half the movie was cut out reducing it to a 90-100 minute action movie last I heard, so I'm not holding much faith in its potential anymore. It's quite a shame. Probably the last ST movie ever.

Wait for the inevitable directors cut.

They'll probably put it on the DVD, if it was really cut.

I actually look forward to this movie. Like The God said, it has an even number, so it must be good.

The only TNG movie that the ship was destroyed in was Generations, so which other one are you referring to?

Seeing Picard die would really suck, but I'll find out when it comes out. If anyone remembers the final episode of TNG, Riker was the reason that Worf and Troi never got married, however Picard and Crusher did get married, then divorced. Anyway, if they killed someone, then that episode kind of doesn't work. I know someone dies though.

I'm going to buy the Collector's DVD when it comes out in a year. Anyway, from everything I've heard, this is the last ST movie, ever.

A quick correction: It was apparantly over 3 hours long before being cut, and is only a bit under two now. However I don't recommend holding ones breath in excitement.

Oh yeah. SW blows. Lucas should be writing cheap romance novels, not epic science-fantasy movies. He had a fluke in A New Hope, and had someone else write Empire Strikes Back, the only really good ones of the lot. PM blew. AotC really blew, my hat only off to the geniuses at ILM for the ending sans the cheasy Yoda fight.

Granted I can't say ST has been doing much better since the ending of TNG and ST:Generations...

...or it could all just be that Frog was trolling for a response and I was dumb enough to give it to him. :)
