[IMG] I'm running a solo fighter/mage/thief and I'm perplexed and disturbed by the special abilities offerings. Specifically, at higher levels I can choose from abilities normally available to fighters and thieves, but I have no option to select mage special abilities.

Is there a fix to allow me to choose mage special abilities (I could really use summon planetar...).

I may be wrong, but I think most of the Mage special abilities are 9th level spells. You have to be able to cast 9th level spells to get them. The ability I see is for an extra 6th level spell. Choose that for an extra Improved Haste to go with Assasination from the Thief special ability choices. I gave some comments on soloing a F/M/T in the "archer as the best main character" thread earlier today.

Yes, most are ninth level spells, so you can't level up to reach ccess them without an xcap remover.

But I don't even have access to the abilities for extra 6th and 7th level spells. The only "scroll" icon showing for me is the one for thieves to write scrolls (if you already have "use any item").

And I agree, the F/M/T is turning out to be a very powerful class (especially with the xcap removed). Not only do you get a mage and thief that can cast spells and backstab while armored with a shield (great way to get that AC down), but you get a character that can backstab for a huge amount of damage and then crank out a greater whirlwind to finish off even really powerful targets. Not too many hit points for a fighter, but once you upgrade foebane that isn't a problem anymore when you are in melee.
