I got my Internet connection fixed a couple of days after last week's SPH (it turned out the ADSL modem broke down and had to be replaced), so I'm happily surfing the netwaves again. I didn't get much work done on the upcoming site update last week, as I was pretty busy with a few other things. First, I wrote a guide to buying things not listed on Sorcerer's Place via Amazon, as this issue has been coming up regularly for a long time now and a more detailed explanation was in order. The guide will be incorporated into the Fantasy Books section on SP with the next site update.

This week we've also started covering Wizards of the Coast & related news (the bits relevant to gamers), which will expand our news coverage even further and, I hope, prove of interest to our visitors. Some comments on this wouldn't hurt. I've also added a touch of Christmas spirit to the site and boards, so we can get into the proper mood for the season. ;)

Finally, I have installed a poll script on the server, which will enable me to make & save polls locally (they've been made through a polling site previously), but as luck would have it, I did not realize I would need to include a bit of cookie code on every page before the html starts, so currently I'm checking if we can add it via one of the site content includes, or whether it will have to be added separately.
