    There's been about half a day's worth of downtime today. This always happens just when I'm asleep or not near a computer, it seems. :(

    Anyway, we're back now. I'm still investigating why the monitoring system didn't page me when everything went down. Thanks to all who sent messages to my cell phone about it. Unfortunately, I slept through all of them, and did some work in the morning and didn't even look at my cell until about an hour ago. *sigh*

    A random down time is better than the DoS attack the alfa forums are getting. And don't worry about it, isn't that big of a deal if it is down for a bit while you sleep, well, maybe it is. ;)

    That'd be easily done, but I don't want to run the machine 24/7... nor sleep next to it while it's on. I get more than enough radiation during the day.

    Anyway, as it turned out our host is still working on their monitoring system, so they "can't guarantee it will work". Well, so I noticed. I guess I'll have to install my own when I get the time...

    The server went down because it ran out of RAM. How or why beats me, however. I checked the load just a few hours before it went down and it was fine...

    I've started running the PHP accelerator for UBB in an effort to bring the memory usage down. You might notice some links on the board look a bit different due to that.
