[IMG] I was on the news and a report said James Brown, aged 73, had died of pneumonia. Very sad I am to hear this as I really enjoyed his music. :(

I heard it on the radio this morning. I can't really say that I'm a huge fan of his music (he has some good songs, but not something I would listen to on a regular basis), but he was one of the greatest music innovators that ever lived.

He's dead? Wow.... I thought of him as was one of those stars you think are going to die who never do, like Keith Richards.

I really liked his music and hope he can rest in peace while I "Get Up, Get Into It, Get Involved".

It's a ploy. He's going to throw off that headstone and sing one more encore.

 To the man who stopped a riot.

The phenomenon turned into a legend, some would say.
I sometimes play his Best Of.. album when I feel like Jack Funk.

Time for some Old Skool House, it seems:

There also is "James Brown is still alive" and "Who the F*** is James Brown", but the most Ols Skool House Classic is probably the first I mentioned.

Yeah, his death took me completely by surprise. Given that he had a concert here next month it never would have occured to me that he was in poor health.

Ever since I got back from Chicago I had been seeing and hearing ads for his scheduled concert at a local casino. When I first heard the ads I was kind of laughing at them booking yet another old timer who probably should have been retired instead of doing concerts.

James Brown, one of your best moments was the preacher man in Blues Brothers. Rock on.
