I haven't even gotten to the MENU yet. Just purchased the game, had no problems whatsoever installing it, but when I try to run the damn thing, a certain message pops up.

"Please insert original Soul Reaver 2 disc and press OK to continue."

It says this regardless of whether the CD is in there or not, and clicking OK never does anything except make the same error instantly pop up again. I meet all the system requirements, and the game came in a single-cd jewel case, so I know I'm not missing one, so what the heck is the problem? Only thing I can come up with is it might be Windows XP. Any suggestions?

Edit: Just to make a note, yes I do have the original.

Could be your CD driver that is screwed, but an alternative is to go to [snip] and get the no cd crack for it (not illegal if you got the original)

[Of course it's still illegal. No-cd cracks are not legal because you have an excuse to use one. You could justify using one, but that wouldn't make it legal.] -Tal

I installed the official patch for soul reaver 2. Now the eidos loading screen comes up, but an error message still keeps me out of Nosgoth.

    This one is slightly different.

"Cannot locate the CD-ROM: Please insert the correct CD-ROM, select OK and restart application."
    Any (legal) advice on this?
