No, sorcerers have the same spells as wizards. Sorcerers just gain spells in a different manner. Oh, if you choose to specialize your wizard, he won't have access to certain spells.

    drow? burning hands?
drow is not a good choice because you are 2 levels behind. with sorcerer, you want to gain as many levels as fast as possible so you can get a wider spell selection. Either human or aasimar, unless of course you want to role play or whatever...

    burning hands awful =/

[IMG] I found burning hands exceptionally useful for a solo sorcerer.

It's level 6 before you get anything for suitable area damage, so early on this is one of the few things that can damage groups of enemies.

Good for mopping up trolls later since I'm not sure I'll have the room to pick up melf's acid arrow and I hardly want to waste a fireball on "almost dead" trolls.

It's hard enough in the start to be 1 level behind when solo, so I chose Aasimar rather than Drow.

    Back on topic.... [edit]

As for Wizard spells v Sorcerer spells, yes they are of course the same, BUT! I'm pretty sure not all spells are available on scrolls, so wizards may not be able to learn them. Certainly there will not be 2 scrolls of certain good spells, so if you have two wizards, one would have to do without. And of course you do not have to go searching for the scrolls. Overall major bonus.

I don't know. I find the Drow's spellresistance very usefull later in the game. Especially with a solo.
