A question for you all. I'm giving IWD2 my third attempt at playing it all the way through. The first time I gave up after all my saves were corrupted in chult by the shield bug that's been fixed by the patch. My second attempt followed shortly thereafter, but ended with the boredom of playing through the first few levels all over again. Now several years later, new computer, new install, all new files, I'm stuck again.

The game locks when I try to level my sorceress up from 13 to 14. I'm currently on the second level of the dragon's eye. It locks after I make the selection for a seventh level spell and move on to the next section of the leveling up process.

Is this a common problem? I've loaded several different save files and once I get to this point the same thing happens again. my cleric levels up from 14 to 15 shortly before with no problems. Any ideas on getting around this?

This is an elementary idea but maybe try leveling up in something else (barbarian will get you some hit points) and increace your sorcerer next time.

Have you got the version 2.01 patch? I heard it works pretty well?

I had the same problem so I tried leveling up with something else and then going back. It didn't work. IIRC it was something to do with the race or portrait, I changed that and had no problems (very odd).

There should be a patch on here that'll fix it

at this point i'm pretty happy with the sorceress the way she is, especially as she's an aasimar, so leveling takes forever as is, and i'd rather have more spells than hitpoints.

i do have the patch, and this is the first time i've had any trouble, other than some slowdowns in chult due to weather effects. after i turned them off it was fine.
