Sorcerer and their spell.

    It's my first time to use a sorcerer.
    She is level 3, with 18 int, 14 char and 14 dex.

    I need help with:

    I have only 3 level 1 spells, namely; identify, magic missile and chromatic orb. And have a 7/7 slots for level 1 magic. During battles, I notice I have 7 magic missile and 7 chromatic orb, no identify. And even after battles, I still have no identify spells. How do I select spells to memorize? And assume resting will replenish them.

    [​IMG] I was under the impression sorcerers don't have to select spells to memorize, they know them already. As for identify, go to the inventory screen, right click on an unidentified object and you should get the option to identify it. But in battle identify is greyed out, and of course what are you going to do identify their weapons why they are still weilding them?

    Excuse me for a moment, is that a flail +1 you are swinging there? :p

    identify is used when you right click an item, select identify and then spell. sorcerers don't need the memorize spells, they get a certain number of castings each day, like 7 castings of lv 1 spells, then you can cast a total number of seven spells from any lv 1 spells that you know. like 4 magic missiles, then 3 chromatic orbs, or 1 missile and 6 orb, etc.

    And for sorcerer you need to max charisma rather than intelligence...

    it wasn't even there. so correct me if i'm wrong again, "identify" doesn't show in the spell option of the game screen, i just click on the unknown object (at inventory screen) and then select the "spell" box (you know the one with spell/scroll/cancel)?

    my char had 18 int because initially i intended to have a mage, i changed to sorcerer at the last moment, i must have completely forgot to increase charisma and decrease int.

    about the number of spells, i think i have 7 magic missiles and 7 chromatic orbs for a total of 14. that was why i specifically mention that. and with what big b just said in his post, i might also have 7 identify spells. that's a total of 21 level 1 spells for my level 3 sorcerer. :grin: , boy oh boy! THIS IS A GREAT CLASS!!! :grin:

    No, you only have 7 total. Look again when you use one, you'll have 6 of each...

    He won't be. :) This is the way sorcerers work. (Or at least how their spellbook works.) Otherwise, if they'd have 21 spells available at lvl1 already, they'd be ridiculously overpowered. Not to mention when they have acces to lvl 9 spells. :p

    You have seven casts, which you can use over the spells you have chosen for you sorcerer.
