Some questions I had. I'm in Chap 3 trying to wrap up the last few quests.

1) Vampire stakes - how do I use/equip them?

2)Are there any tomes that can increase my wisdom/Int/strength etc permanantly? I found 2-3 in BG1

3)How long must i keep Mazzy until her quest kicks in?

4) How long before I get Imoen back (chap)?I'm trying to figure out which one of my party members need to be expelled.

 

1) You only need to possess stakes, no equiping is necessary (or even possible). Kill Vampires, then find their coffins and left click. The coffins can be found from the same dungeon as the vampires.
2) Nope, none in BG II. And BG has 8 tomes, one for each stat and three for wisdom.
3) Don't remember.
4) You're in chapter 3, so not long. Which partymembers do you have?

 

3) Mazzy has two quests, the first is activated by bringing her near the copper coronet in the Slums, the second, i assume, is activated after the first in concluded, and should happen after she has been in the party for awhile. Your waiting for some dude named Danno Fairfoot to turn up.

10 tomes? Damn it. I only found a fraction. I used them on my party members - who, as I later found out, couldnt be exported. Luckily I used the strength and dex vols to bring my stats up to 9.

Edwin (just recruited him after dismissing korgan)
Aerie (until Imoen shoes up)

I'm torn between Edwin and Viconia. i may end up keeping Edwin since my rep doesnt drop 2 points + Jaheira handles most of the healing duties. I recruited Anomen/keldorn/Cernd etc just for their quests and dismissed them once the quests ended.

As for Mazzy - I did take her to the coronet but i read somewhere that real time needs to pass (as opposed to game time) until her quest shows up. its been 6 days (game time)
so I thought i'd pass on that quest for now and pick it up later.

 

If you try romance both Aerie and Jaheira you will inevitably have to choice one. (unless you have installed multiple romances component of Ease of Use)

If you already have a healer go with Edwin.

Though Edwin will leave if your reputation gets above 18 (unless you have Happy NPCs from Ease of Use Installed)

 

You can use the machine of Lum the mad in Watcher's Keep to boost each of the attributes with 1 point.

And having 3 mages in the party is a bit overcrowded. 2 is the most efficient. You could either bring Viconia (if you can handle evil characters in your good aligned party, unless you installed happy patch) or Minsc (replaced with Sarevok in ToB).

 

Minsc does prove to be a fine example of tankness, He goes virtually unrivaled until Sarevok in TOB. Korgan is good, but you bounced him, likewise for Keldorn (esp. if you give him Carsomyr)

3 mages does seem a bit much, I usually have 1 or 2, I'm quite fond of 2 priests in a Party, for more buffs/revives and what not.
