I am soloing with a elven thief/mage. It is tough. I managed to get out of the first dungeon and through the slavers bit. I even got through Nalia's keep (boy that took a few restarts). I am now on my way to clear out the Druid Grove.

It involves alot of backstabbing and running. Web is my new best friend. I picked up an idea from this board and use it to great effect. For instance I took out the party above the inn in Waukeen's Plaza. I cast two web spells, a confusion, and three cloudkills. Any one that even got free for a second I pelted with Melf Minute Meteors. I didn't take a lick of damage. Not bad.

Anyway, I am pleased with how fast I level up (its amazing when you get all of the XP) and I am now something like 12/14 (I'm can't remember exactly). DOes anybody have any hints or ideas? Has anyone ever tried this before? Am I doing it in the lower levels only to be annhiliated later on? Any other thoughts?

    Thanks.

I suppose you could handle it, if you summon alot of creatures later on, though I must say, you're gonna have a hard time with the golems. But still I guess you could sneak your way around them, as you're probably max level when they become really tough

at least if you have a theif then you could disarm traps. but i would not recommend multiclassing
you will not get high enough spells or skils to get through the Underdark (you wil be lucky to reach there without giving up)
maybe you could consider dual classing?

I do agree that it is nice with the fast advancement. But at some point You hit the Xp-cap and things gets nasty. REST A LOT!!

I used the same Ideas with Web-cloudkill. With my F/M/T Then we seperate. I had a horde of monsters waiting to those brave enough to escape. Those person I tried to backstab. Then hide and backstab. I also used my trapsetting quite succesfull.
But as I said.. Later on it gets nasty. Have some monsters to assist you. I eventually turned him into a battlee machine with protection from magical weapons and lotsa Pierce magic/Breech/spell trust/khelbens rewarding whip/ and uhhhhhhmmm I removed the xp-cap :o :o

It may be cheating but I have removed the XP cap. I won't be running into that problem.

What is the best monster summoning spell? It seems to me that the animate undead produces a pretty great fighter after 15th level.

Any thoughts or other hints about my solo adventure?
