Try a monk, they have lots of special ability and they make one hellava kick boxer. A monk with int10 can use any wands and they are allow to wear amulet of power (stop level drain and 5% magical resistance)and other item that a fighter class cannot use.

monks are cool but you might want to consider an Archer. In the generation screen you can put five points in any of the bow profs and this will give an amazingly low THACO at the beginning of the game.

but you do have the problem of not being to able in hand to hand but this could be resolved by putting the later points in longsword prof or katakana. This may also work because all Rangers start with maximum duel weilding proficiency.

Plus you will be able to heal yourself.

It would be difficult, but it would be fun to try.

A cleric might be good, mine became very powerful once you add the strength enhancers girdles etc. Of course they also get to wear armour use melee and ranged weapons cast offensive and defensive spells and heal themselves. If you make them Drawven they also could have good saving throws and a high constitution. Also as was pointed out in a similar discussion, there are a lot of undead in BG2 and Clerics are great against undead.

Anyway use the search funtion as there have been quite a few posts about this over time - there is a similar one on the IWD forum at the moment.

And to answer the other question - yes it is possible and I think the Sorcerer seem to be a popular single class to do it with.

    And finally good luck!!

Again I must say a fighter/mage/theif is a tricky and exciting way to lurk in the mist of Amn. There are numerous ways to challenge a keen mind. Just have a few scrolls ready for the last encounter. Especially simulacrum and haste.
Those Greaterwolweres are some though heckers though :)

Nay, elven stalker. Duel wield celestial fury and pixie prick and u should at least stun most of ur enemies. And u can "avoid" enemies that are too tough(or do what i do, backstab, run behind a corner and hide in shadows, backstab again :)) Plus as stated before they being rangers can heal themselves.

Celestrial fury.. mmmmmmmmmmh the secondary weapon next to that Crom Feyer wielding Dwarf-barbarian.
Also if You play with bonusmerchants buy the flail that give protection Vs. S/B/P weapons.
Together with the barbarians innate S/B/P protection. He wont loose that many HP.

I like the Rouge-Hit'n hide tactic too as mentioned above. But it gets difficult in the late battles. and against creatures that sense the unseen (hence a hidden Rouge)

Sorcerer, by all accounts too easy...

Haven't found it so myself, but still trying it out for a laugh.

To be fair, haven't finished yet with a whole party either. Just something to mix up the game a bit at the mo.
