    Hi,

I'm planning to solo SOA+TOB with a bunch of mods.

The build I'd like to use is a character wielding (throwing) axes (like azuredge and axe of cleaving/unyielding for melee) or hammers (dwarven thrower/gutripper/crom faeyr).

I'm ok to use some ranger, barb, warrior or thief class (custom mod would be great) but I dont want it to be overpowered as kensai/mage for instance.

What would be the best build for that? I like stealth so having that possibility would be cool too.

For locks I'm planning to use Tri-souled Sapphire.
Also recently I played swashbuckler/mage and Keenmarker and I find them both too overpowered solo...
    Help please :)

Sounds like a Cavalier shoe-in to me. Though for a solo, you may find the abilities limited. But then, it may limit him enough to where you won't find him overpowered. He'll be a madman in melee, and you won't have any armor limitations.

For multi-class, there's always the solo faves - fighter/mage, fighter/thief, or fighter/mage/thief. The FMT is the only class I've ever soloed, and while the early game was tough, before long he was very, very powerful. Almost too much.

I don't know if you're planning to dual-wield, but if you are you should know that you cannot dual-wield any weapons that have a thrown component. But you can always switch back and forth. A cavalier dual-wielding Unyeilding and Crom would be pretty bad-ass.

In order to use the dwarven thrower you must be a dwarf. A dwarven fighter/thief would work, but you won't be able to backstab using hammers or axes -- you might as well be a pure fighter (berserker) or a barbarian.

A ranger is a awesome character if you like stealth but limiting yourself with hammers and axes basically means a generic ranger (the Stalker is cool but again, you lose the ability to backstab which is the main reason for taking the class). Of course you will have ample opportunity to specialize in other weapons and shifting for the backstab shouldn't be an issue.

For a paladin solo I would think an Inquisitor would be better than a Cavalier (and Cavaliers are my favorite character to play). Although not having turn undead may make it a bit tougher, but the mage battles would be a breeze.

Thanks for the responses so far.

    @Death Rabbit:
Palading may seem allright. But then again playing a paladin and ignoring Carsomyr is a sin :|
FMT is definitely out of the picture - being even more badass than Swashbuckler/mage I think.
Yes, I'd like to dual wield primarily, switching weapons to throw an axe/hammer or two :)

@T2Bruno: I have the Rolles mod that adds Dwarven Thrower +5 that does not have the restriction for dwarfs-only :)
Yeah, backstab with axe wont work and it actually won't fit to the overall idea behind the char. Although a possibility to do that is ok (I could use staves for that though).
Turn unded is not really needed when I would use Azuredge +4.

So it looks like for now 2 best choices would be an Inquisitor or Barbarian?
I was also thinking about Kensai/Thief (multi with sk) ...

Kensai/Thief is pretty overpowered. And as T2 said, no backstabs here.

I also agree with T2 about the Inquisitor. He only has two spells, but they happen to be two of the most useful spells in the game. And as a solo, you'll never have to worry about the party-unfriendly effects of the two.

But having said all that - Barbarians rock pretty hard. They are, IMO, highly superior to every other warrior class (even the similar Berserker) in terms of pure melee prowess. The rage and the added movement speed are great. The only thing you miss out on is Plate armor, but the best plate is only 2 AC points better than the best Chainmail, so no big whoop. Plus, a Barbarian dual-wielding hammers and axes just seems so much more appropriate, no? Make him a Dwarf for the Thrower and you're in business.

I'd make him a dwarf for the 19 con -- d12 plus 5 hp/lvl plus damage resistances is a winning combination. Actually obeying the rules for the dwarven thrower is a bonus.

Dwarf Barbarian sounds really good. And will be definitely challenging to deal with all those mages and whatnot. Thanks!

There is something about the Ax and Hammer combo that just screams "Barbarian."
