SoA Multiplayer Question

    I have 2 pcs at home running through a router, obviously they share the same ip address - Im assuming they are different ports, although my knowledge of networking fades at this point....

    Im trying to run a multiplayer session using both the PCs, Im not sure how to do this - as obviously they are the same ip address and typing this into the ip address box doesnt work.....

    Has anyone tried this........and got it working?

    Im running Vista on both machines btw.

    [​IMG] They'll have a different internal ip address. You'll have an IP address for each computer on the network (so that the router can send information to each one separately) if you try and use the external IP address (the one used to connect to the internet) then the router is just going to get confused it's sending out a message for the same computer that sent it :hmm:

    If you go to Control Panel and then Network Connections... open up the Local Area Connection... then the 'Support' tab, should have an IP there which is your IP so the other comp can connect to you. (I can only hope it's similar in Vista, I'm afraid I have only really used XP and 98 at length)

    It should start with something like 192.168, that's generally the default for internal addresses :)
