Sky HD has just been released. As far as I can see it looks tasty and great, but it would cost me £299 plus £10 a month to get it. And I'd also have to buy a new big TV to accommodate it. Can I justify the expense? Or is it all a big scam to rob me of my hard earned cash?

I already have Sky+ so have the recording functions.

It's big scam not just by Sky but also the TV manufacturers, having got people to buy expensive digital flat-screen widescreen technology they are telling us that's rubbish you want HD digital flat-screen widescreen technology.

To be honest SKy already costs enough without this new rip-off.

I didn't understand much of that...but I think what he's trying to say is, "No, it is not worth it."

Personally, I've never heard of it...but I'm guessing it's a satellite TV company? :rolling:

Sky is a satellite broadcast company, and the TV manufacturers is easy Kit, they got everybody to buy their expensive digital flat and widescreen technology, and now they are telling us that's crap and we should by buying the HD (high definition) version or our picture won't be brilliant enough.

lol...nice! That's the sneakiest marketing scheme I've heard in a long time. :shake: I guess to them, your picture will never been good enough. I bet that in 5 years or less, they will be selling "super" HDTV... :skeptic: :rolling:

It doesn't sound worth it to me. If you take your glasses off you won't be able to tell the difference in picture quality anyway.

Remember, black and white TV never did anyone any harm. Who needs HDTV? :geezer:
