I casted simulacrum and had the decoy cast contigency on itself. The contigency screen appears, but I couldn't select any spells to put in the contingency. (I'm absolutely sure the decoy had mirror image and stoneskin available, so it's not because he had nothing memorized.) So I try to cancel the spell, but the game froze... I couldn't get out of that contigency screen.

I ended up using alt-tab to Windows to close BG2. The good news is nothing is wrong with the game.

If it really matters, Nalia was the one who casted simulacrum.

Anyone else has this happen to them?

Just out of curiosity, why wouldn't you have just cast the spells without the contingency? Stoneskin and mirror image cast pretty quickly so it seems a bit of a waste of time for the contingency.

I don't think it had anything to do with Nalia being the one who had originally cast simulacrum. Maybe if you cast the contingency before you cast simulacrum it will work -- as long as the spells you cast would normally be available to the duplicate you create.

    It's a thought anyway.

Hmm, just a thought, but do you have the patch installed?

Spelladonna, he may have wanted those spells to autocast if the decoy gets to 50% health or something. Anyway, I don't know why this bug is happening. While I don't usually put contigencies on simulacrums, it should still be possible.

IIRC, Spell Triggers do carry over to the duplicates, so contigencies may as well. Don't quote me on this, though.

Yes, I have the patch. No mods installed except the expcap remover.

I was just fooling around with spells when this happened; I had no real objective in mind. I'm sure there are smarter things to do than what I did... but still, anything that causes the game to freeze is concerning.

Happens to me too, I dont think simaraculums are allowed to have either spell contingency's or triggers. Neither are project images.
