Ugh... I feel like crap today. Had to call in sick. That's unusual for me. People have actually mentioned that I don't get sick. I never really thought about it before she brought it up, but... people at school, pretty much everyone takes a day off now and then because they have a virus or something. I'm just always there. The last time I was really sick, I still went to school, and came home at noon. How about you? How's your general health?

 

I was up all night with my girlfriend, she wanted to talk, as is the annoying tendency of women. I havent had any sleep and i feel thorougly awful.

 

I'm never sick, although bad food can do wonders to your health.

There is a miserable disgusting cold going around our family. Luckily I haven't caught it, thank God!

 

I get colds and your occasional disease, but usually I am the one with the best health in our family.

 

I think it depends on my general mental condition. When I feel 'down' or when lots of nasty things have happened, I might get sick.
When I feel fine and happy, when everything is going alright and life seems to have a bright future, you could poison me and I won't notice.

I'm almost never sick.

Mine is surprisingly good. Of course I have asthma and my backbone isn't one of a weight lifter and I completely and utterly hate sport. It must be my *****iness or alcohol. Seems my CON is really 13

Last time I even raced with the bus - the damned thing rushed early and I had to make it to the next bus stop. You see? One doesn't need to like sport to be dexterous and have nice constitution Another thing was that I was swallowing my own blood on the bus to actually be able to breathe, but that was my lungs and not poor CON Hehe, it's strange, but I somehow perform better than those sporty maniacs without asthma. And I'm stronger than most muscled guys even though I'm only a bit above average in terms of musculature. Heh. Maybe they all have towney spirits.

 

I'm quite often off school but not because I'm ill. My family have a bad history - brittle bones, AD, Aspergus, Circulatory problems and back problems. The only time I feel ill is when I'm depressed, anxious, nervous or whatever.

Does anyone often find medicine doesn't work? I usually find if you just concentrate on getting better you eventually will.

 

You really get better quickly when you know they won't accept a sick leave anyway, so you don't bother seeing the doctor. Instead of the chemistry he would stuff you with, you take a few strong coffees and you're able to work, party, play, whatever. I'm known to have swallowed painkillers with alcohol

General lack of care is probably the best medicine. Unless you would normally die or something would fall off you.

 

I almost never use medicines. I try to deal with ills without them, so my body will have a better resistance. When using medicines too often, you get sick earlier.
If I ever use medicines, I just think it's all placebo and thus it wouldn't work for me.
My mind is the my best medicine: Simply believe there is nothing wrong, then things turn out to be okay.

Working with kids as much as I do, I am always coming down with something. Plus my wife works with the public and kids sometimes, so we pass stuff back and forth too.

My mother hasn't been well, she has exams at college and me to deal with as well. Poor mother...

 

Apparently a broken heart doesn't seem to do well for your physical condition either. I've been feeling continuously tired for the past 2 weeks, with mindnumbing headaches and little to no appetite.

I can't wait till the weather turns better, at least then there'll be another form of sunshine in my life.

It depends on what's going around. I can be in a room with a bunch of sick kids throwing up and I won't get sick, but if someone has bronchidis, or strep throat, I'll get it easier than a chineese guy standing in the SARS ward of a hospitail withoug a facemask on!

Basicly I'm immune to the flu and colds, but because of my asthma, I am constantly being infected with chronic illnesses. In my life, I've had pnumonia 9 times, and broncidis too many times to count.

 

Fortunately, I rarely get sick enough to stay away from work - I have to save my sick days for when my son can't go to school. The last time I took a sick day for myself was when I needed an extra day to recover from sinus surgery, and then I think it was mostly lingering effects of the anesthesia. Velcro and my doctors are regularly amazed by the levels of discomfort I can tolerate without significant impact on my daily routine.
