Okay, so I've returned to Easthaven, and stepped inside the big bad crystal tower. And who should I meet but the pompous shopkeeper Pomab? Anyways, the guy splits into six "False Pomabs", and starts running and blinking around the room. Furthermore, a whole bunch of Crystal Sentries begin hacking my elves to pieces, and the lightning bolts arcing around the room doesn't help.

So what do I do? It doesn't seem like a lie when the Pomabs say that they're invincible. Don't tell me this is the end of the mighty heroes - getting their rear ends kicked by some Calimsh-te storekeeper.

Oh no, actually, this fight is pretty easy, if you're prepared. What you could do is go back down to the second level and have your cleric remember protection from lightening for all 6 of your characters then rest there. With Pomab, you just have to hit the correct one. Each time you do, a mirror image will disappear until you're only left with one, and then he's shark bait. And as far as the Crystal Sentries, don't worry about those. You can't defeat them. They only fall down when they reach 1 hp and then they regenerate and pop back up, so just concentrate your firepower on Pomab.

BTW, Pomab is immune to any sort of magic, so use weapons. Only way to kill him.

    Yep.

All the protection spells for that battle. And entangle or web for the sentries and a few of the false promabs, just so you get several of them either bunched up avoiding the web, or trudging through it.

Be warned; when you complete this battle, go back down and rest and rememorize. It's ok if your spells wear off; don't even bother casting any protections.

There's one more battle. And all your protections are canceled right at the start of it.

He's immune to all magic? I could have sworn I hit him with magic missiles.

It was great because every time he's hit, he reshuffles with his images, but the missiles still know which one was targeted before, and so they all go flying in many different directions as each one hits him.

Really, BTA? That's weird, 'cause the magic I used didn't work. *shrugs* Aw, it doesn't really matter. I've been through the game twice now, and I don't think I'll go through again, at least not until I beat IWD2 first.

I basically cast every protective spell i had from my cleric, and Spiritual Hammer and haste. With Spiritual Hammer, he was able to hit pomab from about 10feet, which meant he didn't have to keep following him each time a new image of pomab appeared, thus, taking him down quite quickly.

I'm guessing the radius of the spiritual hammer must increase with level, coz i never noticed it at lower levels.

That fight was dead easy to me... Drop a Cloudkill in the middle of the room, and it'll kill all false Pomabs. Then you just have to deal with the rest.
