Secret Door in sewers, warded against lockpicking and spells...

So... how do I get in there? I played through the entire game without ever figuring it out, now I am there again on my second time through, and still havent a clue. From some of the posts I have seen there is something in there I need for Crom Feyr (which I could not get in my first game since I never found all the pieces. Thanks for any and all assistance.

 

There's no way to get through it. However, if you do the quest of re-joining the Rod, you'll find a "back exit" in the area with all the beholders, which will exit you through that very door.

 

Oh yeah, I guess I did go through there then, I must be thinking of somewhere else then. Where do I find the mind flayers down there? am I confused or did someone post that they were in a secret room in the sewers?

 

Sorry, this wont help much but I EVENTUALLY was able to get into this 1st of the 2 secret doors late in the game. It was after I had finished everything in the Underdark and was quested to find the Lanthorn.

I only went into the Sewers because I wanted to find out 'which Vendors had restocked themselves with new items'. When I was going to the merchant vendor down in the Sewer I (by impulse) tried the locked secret door and wouldn't you know... It opened up to the Flayers. This time however I still had some 'Brine' potions and wiped em out rather casually. I can't recall anything specific that I did to get in the door so maybe is was some related trigger that I had done previously in the game.

 

I actually did the Mind Flayers thing in the sewers in Chapter 2. I don't recall the door being locked, but I was hit by a psionic blast that stunned half the party while walking towards the stairs.

Never made much of what was in there, other than some good loot and a reference to "The Hidden"

 

the key to that locked secrete door in the first section of the sewers is in the temple ruins in the windspear hills. i think it is around where the troll cook is.

 

the door you are referring to is it one on the left side of the sewer map .

if it is you need the key from tazok,he is the guardian of the kidnapped child gerrens daughter from the windspear hills quest he is in firkraags dungeon,retrieve the key and the door will open on approach.
inside are some battles with illithids and your reward is a wand of wonder tons of exp and the HAMMER OF THUNDERBOLTS +3 much needed for the crom faeyr
