The "Sorcerer" (Syl and/or Tal) did a nice job by creating a search engine in this site (thanx to them) but why did anybody doesn't use it. I'm tired of seeing everybody creating new topic about something we had already talk of. Many people ask question about something and if they had use the search engine they will have found an answer more quickly. Does anybody agreed with me? Thanx for the attention.

Yeah I know but I understand that sometimes is not evident to find the good "therm" to enter in the search engine. I post this topic as a reminder too. Anyway, I'm still a newbie too (Remember my post about where did anybody come from) but I'm still thinking than the search engine is not use correctly or often. For example, many people ask about what to do with Neb's head and if you type Neb's head you should find some results. I don't want to "blast" anybody but I don't think than the one who make the search engine did it only to waste is time? What do you think about it Sorcerer? (Syl, Tal ?)

[IMG] LOL! On another board, which name I won't mention, half the front page are reminders of forum etiquette, from people who don't even run the board. Let's hope it doesn't get to that here :).

I'm pretty understanding when it comes to a new poster even though there is a search feature found on the message boards, sometimes a simple question is needed to break the ice.

I've been to a few other places myself and posted a message, only to get replies of "Can't you use the search engine, it was posted and replied to two weeks ago!"

Uh-huh. First impressions go a long way with wanting to return to that very community and get to know those who frequent it. I enjoy helping anyone regardless of the question, even if I've answered it before people learn to appreciate good help and return, knowing they can get it.

About the only thing I really find annoying is someone asking the same question when there is a message with the same topic 4 threads away on the same page.

For the most part, simple questions don't take long to reply to, but when it comes down to a debate, then rightly so. Search the message board for that debat, especially if it's already been discussed over a few 30 posts or so and has built up just as many replies on the topic.

The worst part of any message board is feeling like an outcast and I don't think Sorcerer wants to create such an atmosphere here. It's actually pretty relaxed. Even the debates are good and not filled with flames or piss-ass remarks and everyone gets to say how they feel without worrying about some guy replying with "Oh yeah? Well you're wrong! u sux!" :)

Always a good reminder though desperado but let's not scare new posters away too quickly! :D

    Again, wise words Syl ;).

I used to go on the 3DO Boards, Might and Magic serie, and as I'm an old poster on that one, I enjoy to help a lot of people coming there... I have a VERY Good behavior on that board :) On this one, my Dark face comes more to the surface, lol :D, btw most of the time I play Good and Light people.

That is the first time that I create a new topic and that it become a "hot topic" (more than 10 replies). Thanx to all for the attention.

[IMG] This is the only board I've ever (or probably will ever) posted on! I like the conversation, the overall intelligence, the razzing, and the fun everyone has dealing with my favorite genre as a kid - D&D.

I also like that the fact that there are people here from all over the place, and different ages and philosophies on RPG/CRPG's! So, in the spirit of the holidays...I just wanted to throw that out there...

I know, I know, I'm getting all misty eyed too! :D

Of course once a post gets old and off the first page, not much fun in posting on it. If it's a topic I haven't read in a while, a and someone brings it up again, I'll post again. Some topics are popular enough to warrant reposting on the subject. If it's a simple "how do I do this" question, then use the search. Incidently, that reply was great. I don't find a lot that makes me laugh on these boards, so I say bravo good Sir Belisarius. That was funny a hell(wait-that's not really funny...oh well).
