How do I copy scrolls to my wizard's spellbook? And how do I identify magic items?

    Select your wizard.
Right click the mouse, to get up the dial menu.
Click on the icon showing a "stick man".
    Click on "Copy Scroll".
Click on the scroll you want to copy, for example "Scroll of Magic Missle".

To identify an item, you need to have the identify spell, and in case of a wizard, you need to have it memorised. Cast the spell, you should then be presented with the inventory screen, Click on the item you want to identify.

You can use the "read magic" spell to identify scrolls.

Remember that casting the Identify spell costs gold. Identifying large numbers of items is a pain. IIRC Identify works on scrolls, too, but Read Magic doesn't require gold to cast.

Thanks. Identifying works now, but there is no 'copy scroll' option anywhere to be found. Am I facing yet another bug?

All depends if you have the spelll already learned or not. Check your spell list. If it is not there, it might be a priest or a druid spell and can't be memorized. If it isn't, yea, you got a bug.

Yes, you need a wizard/sorcerer spellscroll with a spell you do not already have in your spellbook. I do not recal if you also have to be of sufficient level to cast it (example, you need to be level 3 wizard to learn melfs acid arrow) ?

Nope you don't have to be at the right level. I remember learning teleport when my wizard was in lv 2. Its just hard to succeed in copying it, as your spellcraft skill is really low. Save often if you try memorizing a lot of spells.

You can also identify potions with Read Magic, iirc.

Oops! Sorry to bring this thread back from its grave with this silly (and probably already known) information.
