I dont know maybe im posting this in the wrong forum but i didnt find any else (didnt bother to find it either its 1.00 in the night right now).
I just hate that flickering when in game. That must be becouse of refreshment rate. Now in windows i can do whatever i want with RR it doesnt change in the game.
Im playing on 800x600 and got GF3

I haven't found a way to fix it either. BG just chooses 75Hz on his own. Get TFT just like me :D The only problem is the game doesn't support 1280*1024 so the image is kind of vague on mine, but still I wouldn't go back to CRT.

    Hello,

I just installed bg2tob on my new computer. And of course i downloaded the latest patch.

Now i have the problem if i run the game in any resolution i do not get an good refreshrate. At each resolution i get an refreshrate of 60hz. This makes your eyes tired quite fast and cause headagues!

So can somebody tell me how to manually set the refresh rate for baldursgate 2?

I want to play the game at least in 85 hz, resolution prefered: is 1280*960

    my sys specs:

    windowsxp
    pentium 4 2ghz
geforce 3 + newest detonator drivers
    sblive platinum

    regards,

To get the refresh rate you want at game startup, open your baldur.ini file with wordpad and find the 'Display frequency' key. Change the value of this key to the refresh rate you want, then save. The next time you start the game, you should have the higher refresh rate.

    It realy works!

    That's really useful, thanks.

TFT is a type of flatscreen, my screen isn't even 10cm thick. TFT has a very relaxing impact on the eyes even on low refresh rates.

No you don't. LCD screens are LCD screens (you won't see a TFT screen on a laptop); TFT screens are the same as regular monitors, just way better, and they have a flat screen. :rolling:

How do you get a regular screen in 10cm wide?
I've got flat screen and most newer monitors have flat screens and are still big clumsy things.
Any other advantage of a TFT screen? And a cost?

What are you talking about? Of course a TFT display is a LCD (Liquid Crystal Display), and I'd imagine that's all you see on laptops these days. TFT stands for Thin Film Transistor and is another name for an active matrix LCD. I'm not sure that they make passive matrix LCDs any more...

Oh, and CRT is a Cathode Ray Tube which is the typical bulky monitor.

Heh, it's not to cheap, especially mine. I have an 18' screen. It has a 160 degrees viewing angle, unlike the old screens which were only viewable from the right position.
The only problem with these screens is that they can't really handle lower resolutions, or the screen becomes kinda vague. Luckily my monitor handles it quite well. I like the way the image doesn't flicker even when in dos, I wouldn't miss this screen for the world.
