well, as i was playing i noticed one of my party members seemed to have a special power of doing 200 damage. I checked to see what cool waepon does this but the best weapon that i had on all/any character was a simple +3 weapon. Now I noticed that it was sarevok doing this damage and he didnt really start doing it untill his level up where I gave him the special ability of 'death blow'. Does this death blow make your character do an occasional 200 damage hit or is this special to sarevok??? (my main guy is a mage and i have no other fighters in the party)

That additional damage comes from the Deathbringer Assault not Deathblow. It's Sarevok's own special ability to do mass damage. There's only a small percent chance that it will kick in. Do a search on the forums for 'Deathbringer Assault' to find out more info.

Sarevok is a very powerful NPC. Statwise he simply outstanding - and his sounds and dialogues are great. His deadbringer assault, even though there is only a small percentile chance that it kicks in, is deadly. For the small percentile chance I saw it work with good effect quite often.

Indeed. Sarevok is the toughest npc fighter in the game. And it's true when you check his stats that even for a player it's hard to compete with his overall talents. He has somewhere around 93-95 points in his basic abilities. To those who don't remember what this means: 90 points in abilities is the same as 15 in each of them (str, dex, con, wis, int, cha). Meaning, he's not only one helluva fighter (18/00 in str + DeathBringer Assault), but has a high dexterity (AC and saves), with an extreme constitution, wisdom and charisma suitable for a leader, AND an intelligence that would easily granted him very good powers as a mage as well.

Some might think him overpowered, but I don't. In my opinion Sarevok always was a very exceptionally talented child of bhaal. And with his dialogues and possible alignment change he makes an excellent companion. Besides, he is your brother afterall.

My favourite group so far: Me, Imoen, Sarevok and Tashia. Dialogue is not as great as it would be with 6 characters, but the intense feeling of the three siblings and one sorceress strongly connected to bhaal's heritage adventuring together.. Ahh.
