I'm sceptic about the "episodic format" bit.

Yeah, just check their other game "bone". You can buy the first episode for $20, and that's 4-6 hours of playtime. VERY expensive imho, and you buy a game that isn't even finished!

Took them long enough. Sam & Max are my favourite pair of dog and psychotic bunny, but I won't get my hopes up.

$20 is extremely cheap for a computer game here (which is often $60 or up).

Sam'n'Max 1 is one of my favourite games ever, so I'll be looking out for this one. I have a feeling I'll need a broadband connection before I get it though.

I think how good (or bad) the game is will really depend on 2 factors: if it's a "real" adventure game (Leisure Suit Larry anyone?), and how Steve Purcell is involved with it (or how true the game is to the comics spirit).

Sam & Max was (still is) my favorite adventure game of all times. Everything fit in so perfectly well for me, with very few and minor flaws. I'm sceptic about this one being as great, but if it's just "very good" then I'll be more than content.

I am confident that they will do a good job, with Sam and Max. However, I also hope that, if they are selling it through the Internet like Bone, they will at one point also release it in a box and on CD. I always have to keep myself from screaming if a game enthusiastically announces that their manual is included on the disc. A manual is there to read, and I hate reading several pages on a computer screen. They don't have to use expensive paper, or colour images (although all that would be nice) - They could use recycled paper. It doesn't feel *real* if I can't touch it.

Anyway, if you want to read the discussion about the announcement, then you can find it here. Fovily - fov - gives some more details about the announcement, and what was going on at the special event (in case you don't know, 'fov' is Emily Morganti)
