Sahuagin City Weirdness

    i was in the sahuagin city,doing quests and things..after I finished the various sub-quests i went and talked to the prince agreeing to help him(initially i had agreed with the king)and then i killed him,looted him and took the heart from his body to the king..when that happened I got the exp from doing so and the king took me to the entrance of the underdark..I immediately paused and checked my inv where none of the treasure was!(gloves of crushing,treasury key etc)..I got curius and cast finger of death at him,killing him then went to the way to the treasury(all the sahuagin were hostile and were killed w/o rep loss).. my question is,how's that possible ? I read in the DSimpson faq that killing the king after completing his quest is never possible..so far simpson wasn't wrong on anything :)
