[IMG] Given that if you try you can get Safana pretty early how do you rate these two head to head? Some pros & cons please.

I prefer Imoen because she's there at the start. Even traveling quickly, Safana is a level or so ahead and I don't like where she puts her skills. Putting the thieving points where they are useful to my playing style is most important. Imoen's you can control of level 1.

I think one of the NPC guides put it best. "If you like her attitude, pick her up right away. Otherwise, don't even bother."

Imoen works well because you can get her right away, yes, but safana is just hot and is always a good roleplaying addition to my party so I choose her :p

    Silly reason:

Imoen has diviersity in her vowel choice while Safana sticks with the same, staid vowel.

If we ignore roleplaying aspects like voice or picture and talk only about making your party stronger Imoen is far superior because of her better dex and con.

Imoen, No reason. Just Imoen. Well maybe cause I feel she should be with you having grown up with you. I always play good so I can't imagine dumping her for somebody I just met.

I shall take both next time and play as a kleptomanic paladin who enters people's houses and steals their things with his girlfriends. :p

Safana is hard to get early on due to her quest. If you can grab a couple Invisibility potions you can safely grab the Tome. Otherwise, you'll be pounded into mincemeat by those golems that guard the tome she wants.

Don't forget the 3 Sirens outside the cave entrance. I usually use stelth and oil of speed.

Imoen has insanely good stats and makes a very powerful mage dual class later. As mentioned, you have more control over what skills she develops, though if you go straight to lighthouse, you'll meet Safana at level 2, so that's not too far behind.

Safana arguably has a more interesting personality, but Imoen is more powerful and flexible.

I used them both in a game once. I dualed them both to mages, Imoen was a thief/Conjurer and Safana was a thief/Illusionist. they were a nice combo. That party some how became an all female party except for the pc.

    PC:Blakkstone Male human Fighter
    Jaheira Female half-Elf Fighter/Druid
    Imoen Female human thief/Conjurer
    Safana Female human thief/Illusionist
    Branwen Female human Cleric
    Viconia Female Drow Cleric

They pretty much breezed though the game. For some reason they complimented each other very well. God knows I never ran out of magic!

I just cannot stand Safana. As I've mentioned in other posts, Safana is the women 14 year-olds dream of. She's a bit too over the top for me. The blatant sexist stuff is just annoying.

    Imoen all the way.

I agree, but sometimes I just like the sound of her voice. she seemed a bit toned down in my all female party though?? But if you wanna talk about who gets my vote for my woman I dream of, Shar-Teel wins everytime.

Do you have to do Safana's quest right away or is it possible to make her wait?

Will she just complain endlessly like Jaheira or will she leave?
