Rest until healed.

    1.When "rest until healed" is turned _ON_ i rest for 8 hours and awake 100% healthy.

    2.When "rest until healed" is turned _OFF_ i rest for 8 hours awake as damaged as i was before.

    Q: Why the hell is this option needed? OF COURSE EVERYONE WILL keep this turned on.
    Only benifits, no penalties. Cheese for free.

    The idea behind it (I think) is that you have your druid/cleric cast healing spells when resting until everyone is fully healed. I don't think this option will work if you don't have a cleric or druid in your party. (It doesn't matter whether that "healing spell" is a "Heal" or a "Cure light wounds", though).

    Some might want to turn this off, I guess, since it might be considered "not by the book".

    I have a cleric/mage in a multiplayer-pary and no healing spells are cast on rest when I rest, this instead of the single player game I played where Jaheira always came to me at night to give me some healing in change for something else (private) :D

    The downside is if you have no healers in your party it can take an awfully long time to rest until you are healed naturally...

    [​IMG] Hmm.. isn't it standard for Healing spells to be cast on rest?

    The Rest until Healed option is something completely different. This option allows you to rest for *As Long As It Takes* for you to be fully healed. Don't forget to read the text dialogue, since it will tell you how many hours have actually passed... You might be surprised! I was disgusted the first time I realized I had slept for 18 hours straight!!! I made a point to shut *that* option off immediately!! :D

    This might be obvious but I didn't see that anyone has pointed it out....even with healers in the party it can take longer than 8 hours to 'rest until healed'. If your party has 150 points of damage and your healers have only memorised healing spells to cure 50 points, the game automatically casts the spells to heal 50 points, rests for 8 hours and rememories the spells, casts heal again, rests for another 8 hours, etc until everyone is healed. During some of the tough sections my party was often resting for 16 hours even with a cleric, a druid and a half cleric in the group.

    [​IMG] One extra bit of help that works for me. I'm fond of the spell call woodland beings for Jaheira, as an extra spell caster is often nice to have. One of the nymph's spells is mass cure, so if the nymph was summoned in combat and lives to the end, you can have it cast that on the party. If the nymph wasn't summoned you can still cast call woodland beings before you rest and you can give yourself an extra cure. I'm playing around with goodberries now as well. If you have it memorized, you can cast it before you go to sleep, and if anyone isn't fully healed in the morning, you can give them the berries and give them a little extra healing. Takes up a bit much inventory space though, so I'm not sure I'm going to keep this in the regular rotation or not.

    Being able to cast these extra spells, or vary the number of healing spells you memorize is one reason I don't do rest until healed.

    Someone suggested recently that casting Holy Might or similiar strength/constitution enhancers can be a big help in those 16 hour healing periods. I've been trying it for a while, and though it would be hard to say if it works or not, I haven't pulled a 16 hour sleep since....
