    [​IMG] After thinking a bit about some of the comments in the Rep thread I came to the conclusion that Tal should get a rep from everyone (for that matter so should BTA, dmc and Beren).

    It's just not right that an outspoken conservative redneck like myself has more rep squares than the guy who made SP.

    So my suggestion is everyone find a Tal post and give him some lovin'.

    I would also recommend some lovin' dished upon our moderators as well.

    Hehe, thanks for the thought, but it's really not necessary. Rep certainly has more meaning for non-staff users than those of us running the show since we get the aura of awesomeness by default. :p As I said, I could bump our rep to anything I wanted to, but I really don't see it as necessary. It's nice to have a feature where regular users can outrun the mods and admins and since the rep is earned mostly based on the involvement in the discussions and the quality of various posts, it only makes sense that it's gained naturally and not inflated artificially.

    As far as the rep thing, I actually like the way it works now and wouldn't want any artificially inflated rep. It's kinda interesting to see what people give rep for. I generally do it for a post that cause me to literally laugh out loud or for some post that has me thinking "I wish I would have/could have said that"

    Getting rep for one of my snide comments just because someone wants to rep a mod would take the fun out of it.


    Also, are pink dragons acutally reptiles? (It's a pun . . . )

    I figure that would last about two and a half weeks in my house, and then only if I could fend off my wife and daughter . . .

    (My wife makes an awesome hazelnut flourless chocolate cake that involves signficant amounts of Nutella, homemade hazelnut butter, and a plethora of other goodies. Fortunately for my waistline, she only makes it twice a year, Passover and my birthday.)

    I have been known to eat Nutella by the tablespoon.

    I believe there are many reasons for a rep -- not just a good post.

    Many things Tal does here should be repped. Case in point was his quick resolution to the "blog this post" comment in another thread. Hard work should be repped more often than wit.
