reentering the underdark

    you can reenter the underdark the way you left and when I went back there were a bunch of drow fighting elves there and when I whacked them I found two sets of elven chain on the bodies woohoo!

    Yes but what about all the quests?

    I'll be hitting the Underdark most likely sometime this weekend or so and I would like to leave for the surface world, drop off items, pick a few up and possibly do the last two quests I left behind in Athkatla before returning.

    When you return, can you still continue with everything in the Underdark as if you had just gotten there for the first time or are all those quests removed once you leave?

    I'll try not to spoil it, but the answer is yes and no. Once in the Underdark, I don't believe you can leave before the main quest is completed. However, there are a couple or few additional areas that don't NEED to be done for the main quest, and you can go back later and complete these areas.

    when you start the main quest you are helped with a deception. this deception ends when you return to the surface, so you would no longer be able to work on the main quest. the short answer is no you can not leave and come back at will and continue the main line. As Warlord said it was only a couple uneccessary areas I went back for.

    [​IMG] Right - Syl there are other posts where I tried to get to the bottom of this...

    *** POSSIBLE SPOILER ***
    It seems that the exit to the surface that the Drow are guarding is sealed (I thought at first that you just had to get past the Drow) and will not be open until you talk to Adalon (the Silver Dragon).

    Adalon will cast an illusion on your party to look like Drow so that you can enter the Drow city. This illusion wears off if you leave the Underdark, and you can't get it cast on you again after that...

    So, it looks like the Drow city and the Adalon quests must be done before leaving, or you'll have to pass on them.
