    [IMG] I'm thinking in upgrade some memory; currently I have 1gb: 2 512 1Rx8 PC2 4200U-444-12 sticks (that's what the sticker says).
I opened the tower and I saw this.
The specifications of the motherboard says that it has 4 slots, but I just can see the 2 that you see in the picture (yellow slots).
This is the report from Sandra:
    System Memory Controller
    Location : Mainboard
    Error Correction Capability : None
Number of Memory Slots : 4
    Maximum Installable Memory : 2GB
    Bank0/1 - A0 : None None None None DIMM 512MB/64
    Bank2/3 - A1 : None None None None DIMM 512MB/64
    Bank4/5 - A2 : Empty
    Bank6/7 - A3 : Empty

    Logical/Chipset 1 Memory Banks
    Bank 4 : 512MB DDR2-SDRAM 4.0-4-5-12 1CMD
    Bank 6 : 512MB DDR2-SDRAM 4.0-4-5-12 1CMD
    Shared Memory : 0GB
    Channels : 1
    Bank Interleave : 2-way
    Width : 64-bit
    Power Save Mode : Yes
    Fixed Hole Present : No

    Memory Module 1
    Type : 512MB DIMM DDR2-SDRAM
    Technology : 8x(64Mx8)
    Speed : PC2-4300U 4.0-4-4-12
    Version : 1.2
    Memory Module 2
    Type : 512MB DIMM DDR2-SDRAM
    Technology : 8x(64Mx8)
    Speed : PC2-4300U 4.0-4-4-12
    Version : 1.2
    Set Timing @ 267MHz : 5.0-4-4-12
    Set Timing @ 267MHz : 4.0-4-4-12
    Set Timing @ 200MHz : 3.0-3-3-9

Also, in the site of the motherboard it says this about the memory:
    Supports DDR2 400 / DDR2 533 / DDR2 667, 4 slots; up to 4Gb

Of course I don't understand those numbers much.
The question is what memory I have to buy? I'm thinking to get 1Gb.
So, if I take one of the 512Mb sticks and put the 1Gb there, will it work?
Why it says it has 4 slots buy I can see just 2? Are the other 2 on the other side of the motherboard? (sounds silly, right?)

    Ok, thanks!

Well, looking at the mobo and the stats, it seems your comp uses DDR2 memory.

If you want to upgrade, remove the memory you currently have, check the stick to see what brand (I.E Corsair, Kingston, AZENRam, etc), type (DDR, DDR2, etc.), frequency (333 MHz, 400 MHz), capacity, and buy the very same thing. Different memories create unstability, crashes, or your comp might simply refuse to boot.
